Setup for the action bars

Hello!

Is my setup for the action bars as DPS arms warrior ok? Am I missing skills?

(I had to add spaces after the dot, because the forum somehow does not allow me to post links).

Thank you!

I can’t really help and I do apologize as I don’t play arms warrior, but I really, really have to know… what does your “yay!” macro do?

My warrior expericne is pretty limited, so I’m probably not much help on specifics.

When you open up your spellbook, any spells that are not currently on your action bar will show up in your spellbook with a yellow glow around them, making them easier to spot. Also, any spells that are on a hotbar will flash a yellow glow on the hotbar when you mouse over it in the spellbook. (This is very useful for quickly remembering where you put a rarely used skill.)

Also, you can change the keybindings for your main bar (and add keybinds to the other ones.) This can be helpful to use keys that are easier to reach quickly. (And tends to be very personal, so you’ll need to find what works for you.)

If you go under keybindings, the main action action bar is under “Action Bar.” You’ll also find the keybinds for the extra action button (the thing that sometimes show up in the middle of your screen on certain quests and dungeon/raid encounters.) It also has “Special Action Button” which is for forms (mostly used by druids and rogues) and the pet bar keybinds. You’ll find the keybinds for all of the other action bars under “MultiActionBar.”

When posting links, use the pre-formatted text option. Highlight the link and then hit the </> button in the formatting bar in the post window. That will create something that’s easier for people to copy and paste and doesn’t require weird spaces. (You can also put backticks ` before and after the link to get the same effect.)

You action bar setup is a pretty personal thing. Basically you want a setup that feels comfortable and logical to you.

My setup tends to be a sort of modified version of the default ability population order for any given class. I also have a standard positioning for things like instant cast healing (5), interrupts and ccs (6 and 7) and personal defensive abilities (- and =). I do this because it makes it easier to transition between classes and specs when I have a similar setup.

@Zipster: Oh! It shouts in raids and dungeons “FOR THE HORDE!”. I use it when we successfully defeat super evil enemies.

@all: Thank you for your help!

Udiza’s advice is very solid, definitely make sure that all of your class abilities are on your action bars - it also helps to have your utility abilities and items on there as well.

I would strongly suggest using some kind of keybind setup - when I started to work out keybinds, my playing really improved, because then hitting all of your abilities is muscle memory rather than looking around and clicking on a bar- this saves a lot of time and can keep you more aware of what’s going on around you.

My keybind setup is (unbind the S key from use as backpedaling, as this is done at lower movement speed than forward/strafe movement):

For abilities 1-10, keys W,E,R,T,S,F,Z,X,C,V,T
For left action bar 1-10, same as above with SHIFT + letter keys
For right action bar 1-10, same as above with ALT + letter keys
