Setting revert to default on every relog

For example, in system settings my Liquid detail changes each time I log off and on. Perhaps my elderly computer (running Winows 10) can’t handle even the lower (not lowest) setting. I have also tried changing the settings in the files, but they still change at next login. Any thought would be helpful. Thanks.
P.S., Playing retail.

Check folder permissions to make sure they aren’t set to read only and from within the game, run the command /console synchronizeSettings 1 followed by /reload

If that doesn’t work, let me know.

Thanks for the suggestion, but it hasn’t solved the issue. I read that an upgraded Win 10 may cause some issues with permissions. I am set as administrator, but the file(s) reverts to read-only, still. The console command did not seem to have any effect.

Ahh, then you’ll probably want to reinstall WoW to a new folder with a different name. I’ve had the permissions thing mess up before with WoW and other games after upgrading Windows. Instead of having wow in the root drive directory like c:\world of warcraft, try putting it within another folder like c:\games\world of warcraft\

I don’t know if just cut/pasting the files into a new directory, then pointing bnet to that folder, will work or not. Don’t remember if permissions persists on folder move like that or not.

Reinstalling seems to work…however, I so dislike setting up the addons again. Thanks for the assist.
