Vanilla had nearly 2 more months before honor system launch and only 6 weeks of no bg pvp system. 4 weeks in classic is a decent bargain. Anyone who thought world pvp would be months of fun “just like in vanilla” literally is wrong
Data on population balance per realm was available within the first 24 hours from launch. So its not a matter of luck when picking a realm, but rather plenty of people decided to willingly play a character on an unbalanced realm. We also know historically that on pvp realms, horde is usually the dominant faction.
As a comparison to this issue, the same argument can be made for when people willingly created character on overpopulated realms, but later complained about queues.
I will add Blizzard made it worse with the free transfers, and by breaking the population data addons. But these happened weeks later.
Blizzard is trash.
Just admit it.
We’re only here, all of us, because nobody else ever filled this niche adequately.
So your point is that:
The individual situation of players in certain realms requires everyone else in the community to adapt to a new situation, to solve their individual problem, because they are not willing to make individual changes for their own sake?
Seems a bit odd.
Id say you are the minority chief.
Players made bad decisions when it came to choosing realms.
Blizzard made bad decisions when they tried to solve this issues.
Players made decisions with guilds of 40+. With Name reserves.
idk about you, but my name is pretty hard to res ever since it was used in Starcraft 2.
That is imposible, because the community is divided between PVP and PVE realms, and this is a problem which affects only PVP realms. And within that chunk of players, it divides further into those who are content with the current pvp system, and those who are displeased.
Thus those who play in PVP realms and are displeased with wpvp, can only be on the minority of the whole population.
Despite the PVP realms having vastly larger populations… right.
Woah now, some of us just couldn’t make up our minds what to roll with. I rolled two different Alliance, both to 44, before finally smarting up and rolling this Horde… Undead ftw
Yes, but that is your problem (and your guild’s). Its not my problem, or anyone elses.
Yet you are asking me and everyone else to go through a “change”, for your sake?
Why?
Why are you asking me and everyone else to endure it or play the blame game? Why are you so clingy to a situation that was so bad blizzard had to add bgs to fix it in retail vanilla.
I wasn’t commenting on the release of classic to the release of the honor system. Merely the honor system to the release of the first battleground.
Interesting enough the same site has two different dates for the release of patch 1.4.
The page for the honor system states that 1.4 was released on 5th May, 2005. Where as the timeline link you put says April.
But from those vast populations, some are happy and some are not.
If you add the large chunk of people who don’t care (those in PVE realms), the largest portion of players would be ok with the current status quo (by either enjoyment or apathy).
That players once again begged for…
Becuase the situation might be bad from your perspective, but not everyone elses.
And this was, in part, the plan which was announced: bgs come out along bwl. That is what we signed up to.
Must be your first blizzard game if you think plans mean anything.
Problem is the reason for change: outcry. Its not a good precedent (ergo, topic title).
Many players are enjoying current wpvp. Some aren’t, but that doesn’t mean we should change it just to please them.
The complainers are the minority within the whole community. And its also fair to point out, their current predicament comes from a series of bad decisions they themselves made when choosing realms.
Its not fair to ask everyone else in the community to adapt to their necessities and rush content for their sake. They did that with DM for the sake of streamer’s income.
Its wpvp… literally irrelevant.
