SET variables not saving in config-cache files

Hi all - been having trouble with quest objectives not showing on tool tips for my toons recently, this started a few weeks ago. So, as a fix, when I am in-game I use: /console showQuestTrackingTooltips 1 and this works and fixes the problem, but, it doesn’t seem to save.

When I log out of my session or come back the next day, the Quest objectives have turned off again. So now I am going into C:\Program Files (x86)\World of Warcraft_retail_\WTF\Account\ACCOUNTAME\SERVER\Character and inside the config-cache WTF file I have been adding (if its not already there) the line: SET showQuestTrackingTooltips “1”

This works, but again, the same problem, at the end of the session of next day when I load up wow, this line is now missing in the wtf file or is set to 0. Anyone know whats going on and how to fix?

Sounds like you may have an addon overriding the change (such as DBM, though it’s supposed to re-enable it when boss combat is complete).

If you install AdvancedInterfaceOptions it has a CVar browser that keeps track of the most recent thing to have modified a given CVar and could help identify the problem.

Ok thanks. Yeah was leaning towards an addon overirding it. Someone in guild suggested it may be TomTom. Will install advanced interface options
