Well… now you know to transfer to a different server.
On Moon Guard. Haven’t had a single server issue.
MG is oddly immune to the majority of these issues, I’m going to guess it’s because we’re RP and don’t have sharding for the most part.
MG has been super stable all launch save for a few funny boat incidents in the first two hours.
Sis, the whole server is sharded into like 50 pieces. ![]()
I don’t know about open world so much, but in cities at least.
Open world has been a ghost town for me though, so something’s funky monkey.
I had a theory a few days back about stability. A lot of people migrated to high pop servers when SL bled the community dry.
Now, MG isn’t a small server, but it’s definitely not Area52. The combination of the SL refugees and returning players probably stressed the servers as much as it did for those super realms in Classic. That’s just a theory, though.
Been lucky in the OCE bubble, busy on launch day but a lovely experience since.
Thrall. Zero issues so far after day 1.
Oh, weird, it wasn’t like that for quite awhile. I mean I don’t see anyone not from MG when I encounter other players, but I just figured I wasn’t seeing other players because dragon riding makes encountering people in passing from A to B virtually impossible. Valdrakken has been busy/populated for me every time I’ve been on. Again, without anyone from outside MG from what I’ve seen.
Maybe I’m just not realizing it. I know we shard in super busy times/areas, but never to outside realms unless in warmode.
I know they turned sharding back on (in Stormwind) on Monday. But I don’t know if they shard open world or not honestly. I just know I came in on a boat LOADED with people and within ten minutes, literally everyone was gone into the void.
They could all just be moving way faster than me, I have no idea. It actually seemed livelier when I was in WM.
