Server Wide Death Messages

Could we get a patch to enable server wide Death Messages?? Have a on/off toggle or whatever so people can have the option. Make us be able to see what happens in the world!

Deathlog addon does just that, at least for your faction.

People can mess with the deathlog and if you dont have it, it doesnt record it. be nice to see all deaths…

In addition to deathlog being something people can mess with, it’s also opt-in. Deathlog is actually making this whole experience a lot more interesting to me, so a secure option with some basic functionality (ie, on/off and minimum level) would be nice, but it’s also not critical.

I would like it if the updated the guild member death to include a chat message though. I find I often miss it and then see a bunch of F’s in chat for our fallen comrade, but I don’t actually know who died.

Anyway, none of these are huge, just nice to haves in a mode that’s turning out to be a heck of a lot more engaging than I thought it would be

You don’t see enough deaths with one spam every few seconds with their last words recorded? I dunno lol it’s pretty entertaining to me.

Yeah would love an official Blizzard version of this so it can be secured and not just hacked to announce fake deaths of level 65s, etc. Stuff like this is what makes hardcore such a socially fun mode of the game. I died on my 36 yesterday and it felt like the whole server was messaging me and all that. It was hilarious.

We go AGANE.

See, we need to keep this thread going and hope the dev’s find it and implement it. Make an option to turn on and off so people who don’t want to see it can have their option as well. This will improve everyone’s experience!!! Its fun seeing what happens!

On & off is too basic. Just have it always on and have a min level setting.

No thank you.

I had the Deathlog addon for a couple days, but I tired of it pretty quickly and uninstalled.

Then set it to 60 dumbo. Or they could even have a setting of 0=off for people like you who can’t even be bothered with knowing when a max level character dies.

Name calling is inappropriate.

Please, let us keep the forums civil.

If Blizzard adds this it would be best as an opt in.
Default setting is off and those wanting to use it can go into the Options to enable it.

To me it’s unnecessary apparently some enjoy it.

The death messages are so good

Death log does the job

Full dungeon wipe? Love to see it :joy:

I don’t know when they restricted it to your guild.

As others have said…just make it an option to see all death messages.

Death announcement was something I looked forward to for HC. It was a terrible disappointment to learn that I had to go install a 3rd party tool to see it. Even worse when you realise it only works for those who have it installed, and even then, that the deaths could be faked.
Please implement this option Blizzard. Even if you make it basic (Available for activation + announces your death & lvl even if you don’t activate it for yourself + level restriction).

Nah.
Don’t force participation if one doesn’t opt in.
You’ll have quite enough crashes to gawk at.

You’re opting in by just going into the server. If you die, it should be announced to your faction. This is something that Hardcore is about. You’ll see the first person to get to 60 and everyone there after… Why not each Death?? Agreed it should be defaulted off so people have to manually turn it on.

I’d love to see this implemented in a patch and I hope we keep bringing this up in hopes the Dev’s will add this!!!

Your opinion that is not shared.
As I stated there will be plenty to gawk at with those that opt in if Blizzard implements some sort of death log.
The beauty of the Blizzard official hardcore servers is the choices allowed the players.
Not required is fine. Letting you have the option is fine as is mine to decline.
