Server Transfers & Faction/Race Change Costs PER Character is Absurd

It’s 2020 and it STILL costs a ridiculous $30 to faction change and $25 to server transfer PER character. If you pay $30 to race change, you should be able to race change any characters you want on your account one time. Same with server transfers. Pay the $25 and you have free will to transfer any of your characters one time. I have characters stuck on dead realms and don’t want to spend an absurd amount of money to transfer them all. Is this too much to ask?? Boggles my mind there still isn’t a package deal. The greeeeeed.

It’s actually cheaper now if you look at inflation.

It’s meant to deter people from doing it. And they could do a cool down instead, but might as well profit off of people who want to skip the game. They don’t want people to do it all willy nilly, chasing FOTM.

It’s free to relevel. You have to decide if your connection to those characters on dead realms mean more or less to you. Some people favor time, some money.

That’s the reason why I add these to my wish list. Transferring a character to another realm shouldn’t cost this much…

…especially when City of Heroes: Homecoming does it for free!

There is a cooldown on your character for server transfers. I know that. Unless they removed it.

Heritage armor softens the blow for me. I just reroll somewhere else with that to look forward to.

When WoW becomes FTP, they just might.

Touché  … I am comparing apples to oranges, aren’t I? :stuck_out_tongue:

FTP = the game is all about micro transaction and you guessed it. This is a microtransaction.

Na, that’s the “excuse” they used just like when they said people could not find pvp venders…
They charge 30 bucks because people will pay it…

Nothing more nothing less

You can stick with the cynicism, I’ll stick with their explanation. They’d make a lot more money if they dropped the prices so I more believe them from that evidence than the ever hateful, anti-Blizzard Blizzard forums.

Either way, the price isn’t changing and there’s no reason to.

That I agree with you, because people are willing to pay for it

It used to be free…until Activsion got involved.

I was not aware of this … I joined during the launch of BFA. When did Activision take over things?

Right around Cata is when they began to get more involved. And yes, before that time ALL server transfers were free but only within the same battlegroup.

You also had to go from PvP to PvP, PvE to PvE.

Name changes were only free if you were being harrased and needed to get away from stalkers. Blizzard would tell you to block the person, and get a name change.

I agree with OP. Server transfers in particular need to be a package deal, pay 25$ or whatever and you can choose to move all, some or only one character off of a server at a time. It’s absurd to me that we can have, what, like 15 characters on a server now? 50 on an account? and the cost is still so insanely high for just one of them. Especially with so many servers emptying out. People don’t want to abandon characters they’ve had for years, possibly even over a decade.

Dog gone it. Oh well, I’ll wait for my wish list to come true then

Thanks for the reply.

It’s standard practice to charge arm and leg for a service consumers demand that you don’t want to offer.

The server prices are the way they are to discourage use, while still being available for those who truly want it.

Bull expltive now I not a fan of the cost of it but it was never FREE

If it were cheaper, I’d pay to move some characters around. Since it isn’t, I don’t.
