Returning player to find my server is heavily stacked in opposite faction (Exodar). Is it worth doing a transfer?
No.
Pretty much everything is cross-server and a good chunk of stuff is now cross-faction too.
Do not.
Guilds are all cross server come 11.0. If you’re fine waiting a few months and searching for a good group until then, I’d personally wait. Otherwise, as Galedron said, everything else is cross faction now besides queued content.

Yes for region-wide commodities… BoEs and things like that are still realm-specific to each AH (one day I hope it’ll all just be region-wide).

No. They’ll just shard you into an Alliance-heavy shard even if you transfer.
If you need something crafted just make an alt on the opposite faction and swap back and forth when needed for work orders.
Other than that I can’t think of a reason to swap.
