At the very least Blizz should combine all servers of the same type into a single cluster to at least give us some semblance of a single server that is somewhat functioning.
What is the point of having multiple clusters where there are only 15-30 total people online at any given time? You think they are deliberately leaving it in this pathetic state just to get transfer money? I don’t know, it seems like intentional sabotage so they can eventually claim the Classic Era servers are dead to justify shutting them down.
By forcing people to make a decision between transferring their characters to TBC or CE they would have known 100% that CE would be a ghost town. If they cared about their player base and wanted to actually support the servers they would have just given everyone a copy of their characters on both CE and TBC for free and that would be the end of it.
nuBlizzard has no soul. It’s just bait and switch anymore. You think you’re the one farming gold but it’s them farming your hard earned dollars.

The point of not combining them is you can’t combine servers from different locations without significantly increasing lag for some of the players. It’s just not possible. You’re basically just deleting servers, and removing options for players, not merging.
The way around this is just to allow cross-realm for instances in classic, just like they already do with battlegrounds, with the instance hosted on the server of the party/raid leader.
That way everyone still keeps their low lag local server but can voluntarily join instances from other realms. It also allows PvP/PvE/RPPvP/RPPvE player to all do dungeons/raids together without forcing them away from their chosen open world game type.

Wish it was like that now, Im ET and last night it was 8 + hours to log in, after we got booted having been logged in most the afternoon, EST realms I find that from 1am thru 5pm no wait times, but God have mercy if you want to play after work, looking xfer off Faerlina finally but dont want to pick the wrong server and burn my free xfer, they get enough of my money.
