Realm transfers are a waste of cash. One realm is the same is the next. Unless you go to Moonguard and Goldshire inn.

Both are great! For horde. I’m originallyfrom illidan. After s1 shadowlands I ended up transferring for friends. But lots of guys I PvP with are in crazy PvP guilds in area52. Strong PvP

Illidan also has good PvP. But also a lot of pve. Lots of gold spammers I’m trade at least when I was there. But old strong guilds. I often PvP with guys from both servers. U can’t go wrong with either illidan might have more flex options than area52

Im cst and on an est realm. Ive never found it to be an issue. If anything, it just means the raid or whatever ends earlier for me.

Illidan has loads of Chinese spam, not joking.

You’ll need the BlockChinese addon to play there, at least if you plan on using the city and trade chats at all.

The server has always had a large amount of Chinese players, I think they play here to avoid the crappy Chinese version of WoW, lmao.

Idk, they’ve always been around, and I’ve occasionally played with them. They are good and nice players, even if I can’t understand 'em.

I actually moved away, to Bleeding Hollow, years ago, because I wanted a smaller PvP realm in my timezone.

Illidan is like 2 hours different from me.

I can’t speak about Area 52, but I know Illidan was the largest PvP Horde server, for many years, even now.

OP, I have toons on both Tich and Area52. I prefer Area 52 although there’s nothing wrong with other servers. That’s just my preference.

You can roll toons on each server and see how you like it but the time difference doesn’t really make a difference because of the high pop on A52.

Not true. To see what I mean, go to Area 52 on a horde toon and join chat.
The people there are fun.

Tich illidan and area52 are all horde strongholds!

Like another poster I moved away as I’m not heavily involved in wow anymore I’m a filthy casual so I moved to a carebear server and I like it here

Look forward to this during an expansion launch on Area52. Its a drastic change from your dead realm. Some people hate it. I love it. Makes the game feel alive

Mandarin is the Chinese recognized nat’l language. Used to be Cantonese, now Mandarin.
