I have a couple of quick questions. I picked the game up about 6 months ago after not playing since right after the release of Burning Crusades. I jumped in without really taking into consideration what server selection could mean. I haven’t really played in about 3 months since I wasn’t really sure about longterm commitment. I think I am going to commit now.
So, my questions:
Do I start now or just wait until the expansion or at least the new level revamp comes out? I am more than likely going to start a new character.
I originally selected a new player server which now I have realized is not recommended for whatever reason. Am I good to stick to that server or should I restart on a server that has more population?

I personally would start on a high pop server there are benefits and it’s a long life. Go to wowprogress .com and sort by population. Last time I checked a few months ago the tops were Illidan and Area 52 for horde, Stormrage and Sargeras for alliance. Join the dominant faction. Don’t worry if it says full you can still join.
The higher pop servers have more guilds, more city/trade chat, more players in town, better auction houses, and more local players in the zones.
In regards to starting now or on 10/13 when the prepatch launches, it depends on if you want to get a head start. Leveling will be faster and streamlined to specific expansions on 10/13. All of the class changes will take effect as well. Almost everyone has multiple maxed characters.
