When can we expect a release of the population for all the different realm? Seems like Blizzard has been really quiet about this. It would be useful to have them.
I don’t see them publicly disclosing the realm population breakdowns, the population numbers and A:H ratios will most likely be coming from non-Blizzard sources. It’d be cool if Realmpop got on the Classic train.
Seems like Herod, Faerlina, and Grobbulus are the highest pop servers… just by seeing Reddit/discord activity.
With Herod being the most by far… they are probably going to encounter major queue times when layering is turned off.
It would be helpful if they released -rough- faction balance info, as being on an unbalanced pvp server will absolutely ruin your experience, especially with how much time investment your characters will need. That or just enable realm xfers from the start so people can flee if necessary lol.
They do not release exact realm population. Just an indication by the population feature.
We won’t have a better idea of true populate and faction split till launch and Classic Census or Realm Pop are able to get to work.
You keep saying this, but it’s simply not true. I was queued to login for the name reservation even, being number 12,000 in line. I was in within 4 minutes. You say queues aren’t turned on, yet, but everyone from the even can attest to the fact that the queue was most definitely turned on and we all saw our place in line.
My dear lord dude…
I cannot believe you do not understand by now…
When layering is turned off… only 3-8k(AT MOST) can play on one server at one time. What do you not get about this?
On launch, and on character creation, it will be significantly higher… because of layering.
So of course, the 12k queue went by fast… I don’t think they even have a cap at the moment, it’s probably just limited to server processing time. Unless maybe they want to put in queues at launch to try to spread the populations out a bit.
You simply don’t get it… Herod will have 4 times the population the highest vanilla server ever had… all logging into the same size server. There will eventually be HUGE queue times for Herod… longer than vanilla ever was.
An indication is fine. I feel like the community is awfully passive regarding this tbh. A mere approximation isn’t too much to ask especially given we are going to be paying monthly and investing lots of time on a realm where, let’s be honest, we aren’t sure is going to be meeting our expectation. I hate to use the ‘‘I’m a paying customer’’ boomer card here but I do feel left in the dark. Hell, even private servers were more transparent with population (well, some of them were).
It has LITERALLY (proper use of that word in this case) been that way for 15 years!!
Passive? ROFL. .
You’re talking out of your rear end, sir. You don’t have an uncle that works for Blizzard. Calm down. They’re not going to let that happen.
Not an argument.
No. its the facts.
You have a population indicator in game now.
Period.
Full, High, Medium, and Low are your population figures.
That’s all they have ever or will ever release for specific realms. They don’t do it in Retail and they won’t do it in Classic.
This has never been released by Blizzard ever. Wait until we get in there, and you can look at Warcraft Realms census data, just like every other server.
And you literally already have it.
What will they do dude?
tell me…
there is nothing they can do?
Forcefully move people off the server?
Keep layering?(They promised they wouldn’t)
It is literally impossible. Tell me one way they could avoid this issue.
What are the current threshold to be considered low, medium and high then?
Keep layering. They break promises all the time.
Offer free transfers onto a newly created server, hopefully an EST RP PVP as an option.
Ride the wave that will be drop off when the retail tourists realize you can’t pull 4 mobs and live.
They’ve never released this sort of info before and I’m fairly certain they won’t do it now.
They are an indication. You said an indication is satisfactory. You will never get more than that indication, from Blizzard.
Once the game goes live and we can do our own Census, we’ll have all the rough figures you want. But you are NOT getting more than Low/Medium/High/Full, before release.
Doesn’t hurt to ask tho.
Yeah, No one would want to be on a server that keeps layering…
And it being the only one?
You already will have issues having a 8k concurrent server pop(If they’ll even raise the cap that high). With server transfers, it won’t solve the problem over night, you will have huge queues until enough are motivated to move…
Regardless… Herod is either going to have massive queues, completely unstable population issues, or massive drama of being the only server with layering…
sounds great xD
