Information on servers, and their location?
I would prefer to play on a server that is close to me to minimize lag.
I am on the East Coast.
If they’re smart, the EST servers will be in Chicago, not LA. However, those are the only two options (assuming you don’t intentionally choose Oceania).
It doesn’t matter. Even if the only location is california, you’re still going to have 1/3 or less the ping of a foreign private server.

I’m eager to hear the Server info too, as seven or eight of us are planning to be together and a little extra planning time would be damn handy.
Hopefully we’ll hear pretty quickly after this next Stress Test and well before the Aug. 13th name grab.

1/3 of 200ms is still too high. I want my 15-20ms.
It’s important to know which servers are considered EST, PST AND CST so we can roll on the ones that conform to our time zone.

We will, when they release the list. The Realm Status page has always had all that detail. The only thing we’d need to discover ourselves is which datacenter they’re in.
We will get server information prior to Character Creation from what I can tell.
That seems pretty obvious.
How else would we reserve our names without a server list?

Before we can reserve them obviously. Some people may think we won’t know the server list until we log on to reserve names. Also, the link where they said we would before ONLY says oceanic… obviously this probably means every region but with blizzard you can never be 100% sure when they talk like that.

Only you thought that… I can’t make you read things. you should just take things at face value. Have you ever thought that people from different parts of the world have different ways of phrasing things so maybe you shouldn’t put a tone on it and just read the words… Just because you think i was acting like it was my revelation doesn’t make it so. That post also says OCEANIC. It doesn’t say EVERYONE. While its probably safe to assume it will be that way for everyone does not automatically make it so with blizzard. But no… our forum police Eloraell knows everything and decides what people mean and how they mean it every time.
Oh yeah. Oceanic will find out beforehand, and Europe will find out beforehand… but North America will get ignored.
