Server latency issues

Hi Support Team,

I’ve been playing this game for nearly a month now, and up until recently, the experience was smooth and enjoyable. Even with my ping hovering between 200–300 ms, I could easily handle everything from Open World content to Raids and Dungeons without any issues, crashes, or lag. and even my ping is low sometime game freeze can move but can’t use skill or hit monster but monster can hit me and only way can do are alt+F4 and login again

However, since the most recent patch, the game has become almost unplayable. I’m experiencing constant crashes, and my latency (both Home and World) frequently spikes to 1,000–4,000+ ms. I find myself constantly having to restart the game, which is incredibly frustrating.

This is a stark contrast to how stable the game was just a few weeks ago. I really enjoy playing, but these technical issues are making it impossible to participate in any content.

Could you please look into this? It seems like something in the latest patch has caused these stability problems, and I would greatly appreciate a fix as soon as possible.

Thank you for your help.

Unfortunately about 2-3 years ago the team that provided direct technical support was released to other departments, or havemoved to other jobs. While there is some monitoring for global issues, unfortunately no direct one to one. It’s mainly player discussion.

My suggestion as a fellow player is to make sure your internet is optimized for wow, directions are found in the support pages. It might help to know what region you connect from, what isp, and what content you are experiencing the highest network latency.

You should also contact your isp to see if they’re aware of any issues with peering to bnet.

It is not normal lag caused by high ping. I play on the US servers from Thailand, so my latency is usually around 200-300 ms, which is completely playable for me. I can do all types of content without any issues.

When I first subscribed, the game worked perfectly fine. I had no problems at all. Before playing WoW, I also played Guild Wars 2 on US servers with similar latency (around 200-300 ms), and it was perfectly playable as well.

However, after the most recent patch, the situation changed dramatically. My latency frequently spikes to 1000-4000 ms, and the game often freezes. During these freezes, I can still move my character around, but I cannot perform any actions. I cannot interact with NPCs, cast spells, loot, or do anything else. Eventually, I have to relog, and this happens very frequently.

Compared to when I first started playing, the issue is much more severe now. The high latency spikes and freezes only started after the latest update.

I would like to emphasize again that I understand that playing from Thailand to US servers means having around 200-300 ms latency, and I am completely fine with that. The problem is not the normal 200-300 ms latency. The problem is that after the latest patch, I started experiencing frequent spikes to 1000-4000 ms and game freezes that make the game nearly unplayable.

and sometime There are also times when my latency is completely normal, around 200-300 ms, but the game suddenly freezes anyway. I have to log out and back in to fix it, and then everything works normally again for a while. However, after some time, the problem comes back and I have to repeat the process. This happens quite often.

Unfortunately SEA-ME-WE cables have been the culprit of damage historically, this is something the isp can check as far as routing issues go.

Have you tried connecting to Sydney servers and Australian time zones?

“Thank you so much for the advice! I’ll definitely consider trying out the OC zone if I get the chance. For now, my main character is on Moon Guard, so I’m a bit hesitant to move servers. Still, I really appreciate your help and the information you provided. Thanks again!”
