I have never posted in the forums before, but there is something that has been on my mind and I hope to hear your opinions. Like many of you, I enjoy classic wow. Vanilla for me is the ideal version. I also only consider it to be the true vanilla experience when playing on a pvp server. I have a horde and alliance 60 and lots of other toons on classic era. I was excited for fresh to release, but it seems to have nearly killed era realms, at least for the time being. Fresh is great, but I feel like I have wasted so much time getting to max level only to have my toons remain on a dead server. I want to play endgame right now, not start over yet again. I wonder if by the time I get my fresh toons to 60 if these servers will die as well, or if they will become something that I can’t stand. I was very excited when tbc was released, but was massively against the pay for play character boosting. Wrath was fun too, but still not the same as it should be. Cataclysm ruined those servers for me tbh. I hate cataclysm and I also don’t see any point in playing those servers either especially since they are also low pop. My next thought is that there simply aren’t enough fresh servers imo. As I said, I only play on pvp servers, so my choices are slim. I can play on nightslayer US, or Maladath, AU (low pop). Obviously im going to play on nightslayer for fresh, since its actually populated and a pvp server. I also like to play both horde, and alliance, and I really can’t do that anymore unless I want to make one faction on a low pop au server (which I don’t want to). Ultimately my point is this. I want a pvp server to call my long term home. Preferably two so I can play both factions. I have a full time job and work overtime and I have a life outside of this as well, so my video game time is fleeting. I am getting tired of reaching 60 only to switch servers again and again. Blizzard just let me live my virtual life. Thank you.
If you want to get to 60 and stay at 60 forever, ERA is your only option.
The majority of players will always flock to the FRESH server and level again from 1-60.
What I believe will happen is blizzard will release fresh progression servers every few years. Vanilla-TBC-Wrath. Start over.
The current anniversary servers will moving to tbc and level cap 70 around the end of the year/start of next year. They MAY have an option to move your guys into era, but have made no indication that they will do so.
Thank you for the reply. I wouldn’t mind playing era at the moment, but its got such a low population that I end up basically playing alone. I want to play an mmo, not just an o. I wonder if I should be utilizing this time to improve my era 60s while the servers are dead, and if and when they come back to higher pop I will be ahead. Only time will tell I suppose.
Aren’t there any active raiding guilds in Era?
You mentioned that you’re pretty busy with work, life, etc. Have you joined the Discord server, and looked around for any guilds that may have raid days/times that match your schedule?
There are probably a couple around, but they may just be raid-logging, or dipping in for BG weekends, while playing Anniversary or getting ready for MoP on other characters.

Actually to my knowledge there are some guilds routinely doing raids on the weekends, but it still bums me out that there is such a low population, it just doesn’t feel the same.
Doesn’t feel the same as what?
It’s 6 years since launch… of course it’s not going to be full of levelers. There have been times here and there where a lot of people have come back to Era, so that may happen again at some point… I think some are anticipating such an event around the time TBC anniversary drops.
I guess we’ll see.

It doesn’t feel the same as pre fresh for context.
good news: they’re already something a classic era player like myself cannot tolerate
so don’t bother. keep playing era.
