Wish some of these conversations would get posted to server forums so we could actually communicate with people we will actually be playing with/against. Maybe its just my server(smolderweb), but if you post something there, you will be lucky to even get 1 response.

Did they make server forums for the classic realms? Perhaps people just don’t know they exist. Retail realm forums have been dead for years

Realm forums hardly ever have threads worth reading. Guild recruitment threads and ninja/bot/exploit/harrassment callout threads mostly.

They should really make a tab for server forums like general discussion and bug report… why they think the masses will click their blue post and find their specific realm is beyond me

since users select their character, the main nav on the forum should include the realm forum of the selected character. It’s nuts that I have to browse a list of every realm to find the one I actually play on.

They buried the server forums down a bit lower on the forums main page so most people don’t even see them. From what I’ve seen the server forums only consist of X is a ninja looter and guild recruitment spam.

Right above the list of all the realms there’s a small list of realms that you have characters actively on. Thought I do think they should move them to a more noticeable location.

Most realms have a discord. Some are pretty active.
Fairbanks forum is alright. Not super duper active but it’s fine. The subreddit seems to get more responses though. There was a big 'ol bit of drama recently and the official forums thread has 8 replies while the subreddit one has 210.

Everyone is here raising a stink about nochanges, Classic+, BC/WotLK.
Why wouldn’t the server forums be dead? Any and all trash-talking (some petty, some jocular) will result in bans because Blu-Hair Moderation Team™.

This forum software and layout is garbage from top to bottom.
What I find stupid is apparently if you mention that someone is a ninja looter in server forums u get temp banned
This means that someone could be theoretically going around in pugs, rolling for gear that they cannot use, then disenchanting or deleting it right in front of the group to grief them…
…and not only would that not be against the TOS, but you couldn’t even make a post about it and try to warn people via the server forums without getting banned. You would have to try to rely on word of mouth to warn people on a server with 10k+ people…

it has its problems but honestly it’s much better than a lot of other forum software. So many forums don’t even give you an indicator when people respond to you, you have to scroll around hunting for responses.
I honestly prefer the original WoW forum format.
