Server consists of nearly 50% bots

CrusaderStrike is overflowing with bot players. Everywhere I go to farm in the open world there are bot hunters farming mobs. If you try to mine or go herbing guess what? More bots taking everything. Want a summon somewhere? No problem the server is full of bot summoners all over the world that will summon you anywhere for 2 gold. Bots are very easy to identify why aren’t they being banned? My only conclusion is blizzard you are happy with the $15 subscription the bots are paying and don’t care about the game experience. I’m not going to just complain about this and not offer any solutions so below I have some ideas.

Possible solutions. Allow players to take a gathering profession as a secondary profession. Current min/max culture in SOD prevent people from taking gathering professions as it hurts their DPS. What does this mean? It means the majority of gathering is done by bots because no one else is doing it.

Possible Solution#2. Stop issuing measly two week bans to gold buyers. I know its two weeks because I’ve known several people who have been banned for buying gold and they continue to buy more gold anyway. Buying gold contributes to more botting. Start banning for six months first offense for buying gold.

Possible Solution#3. its time to admit your automated system or whatever it is you use to detect bots does not work. Bots farm for a period of months before ever being caught/actioned which leads to a profit for them and incentive to just continue doing it. Hire more staff dedicated to just getting rid of bots. Where will you get the money for this? Increase subscription costs if you have to. I’m sure people won’t mind paying another $10 on a subscription for a bot-free game experience.

Bots make the server balanced, thanks to the Faction balance lock Aggrend implemented.

they don’t want you to know this but you don’t have to pay the summon bots, they can’t and won’t do anything. You can even whisper them 15 minutes later and get a summon from them again.

of course… but the fact remains that they are bots.

Because they’re not as easy to identify as you assume.

Bots aren’t paying $15 per account. Probably closer to $5 as they are using logins from regions like Argentina and Brazil. Add in stolen or fraudulent credit cards, associated chargebacks and claims, etc - I doubt that they are making much money from Bot subs.

People can run alts with gathering professions - in fact, I would be shocked if many didn’t as it’s a good way to save gold on consumes, and earn gold selling excess materials.

Secondly, adding a second gathering profession to every character would require significant coding work that the SoD team is not generally interested in doing. Keep in mind, that a change of this magnitude doesn’t just impact SoD, but ERA and HC versions of the game too.

No quibble here.

Just because there is a lag from the time a bot is detected and/or reported, to when you see a bot banned does not mean the systems do not work. It’s well known and obvious from even a simple google search that Blizzard bans bots in waves to obfuscate how they were detected.

Asking them to hire more people after announcing nearly 2000 people laid of is not going to happen.

And, again - the people paying these bot subs aren’t paying the full $15 - they’re paying the regional sub cost of around $5. Raising the sub price to $15 US there would effectively kill off the entire legitimate playerbase within those regions, resulting in further loss of profit. Plus, I already pay $25/m to play WoW. Raising it by $15 (which is the rough equivalent of CAD > USD conversion) would make me and many others cancel our subs entirely as other costs continue to spiral out of control, further eroding profitability and resulting in an even worse player experience for you and others.

there are a decent amount of bots. go to alterac mountains late at night they are everywhere up there. same routes, movements, actions… ez honor tho
