[Server: Area 52] Massive Lag Since Last Maintenance

Hey everyone,

I’ve noticed on my server, Area 52, That we have been experiencing massive lag since the servers came back up from maintenance last. I’ve asked multiple players in the game if they were having same issue, And it appears to be very wide-spread on my server.

We are experiencing up to (10) second delays when doing the following!:

  • Checking our mailbox.
  • Flying on a Flightpath.
  • Looting creatures.
  • Turning in quests.
  • Utilizing the Auction House to purchase or sell goods.

I’ve provided both a Pathping and Tracert in this post. You may view this below.

Thanks for your time regarding this matter!

I was having this issue a couple weeks ago on a different realm. When I connected to a vpn, all the lag went away. So for me, there was some routing screw up between my isp all the way to the blizzard server. For example, they were probably routing my packets from US to New Zealand and back to US to reach the Blizz server. Connecting to the vpn changed the routing and thus removed the lag. So if you have access to a vpn, I suggest trying that to see if it removes the lag.

Good luck!

Hey there,

There were US realm restarts this morning (Thursday the 20th) which can clear up shard lag like you’re describing. Can you test again to see if things are better now?

If it’s still happening, try switching War Mode (off → on or on → off) and see if the lag isn’t happening in one or the other.

Thanks!

This issue appears to be resolved since the restarts this morning!

Thanks!
