Can someone fill me in on its use? It doesn’t seem like a very Rogue-like talent. Why do I want two thrown abilities? Is it really better than Exsanguinate? I used Exsang a ton last time I played Rogue which I admit has been a couple years
Exsan is so bad, while bone spikes keeps other stealthies in combat
My play style as an assassin is purely PvP based, I have experimented with serrated bone spike for a bit but I found better use of talents to buff my passive damage and overall pressure.
Also the amount of buttons we have led me to prune some abilities and I chose bone spike. It’s a good ability cheap combo points ranged combat engagement if you need it, can do a little bit of damage and surprise the enemy.
Exsanguinate was good at the start of the season but the patched a nerf to it a couple weeks ago. Went from 45sec CD to 3min pretty much blizzard saying they want it gone and kind of said that too.
For PvE Bone Spike is taken because of Lethal Dose, it buffs pretty much all of our DoTs by 2%
I will add, I feel I get more out of Serrated Bone Spike vs Exsanguinate. With Exsanguinate, you basically get an extra Rupture and Garrote every 3 minutes, even though it sims higher.
Serrated Bone Spike is much more useful. It has decent damage, adds combo points, continuous stacking DoT, 30 yard range, 30 second CD with 3 charges. It’s just a really good all around talent. At least for PvE.
wait, does the dot stack now? i mean that would be cool if it did but i thought it only had 1 stack period and using the skill just did the intial damage. did that all change?
Stacking probably isn’t the correct term. You have 3 charges you can apply on 3 different targets in an AoE situation. At a cost of 15 energy, it’s a really efficient ability considering all that it does.
even in single target it’s nice, it cost less energy than mutilate, deals more damage, and gives just as many combo points aside from a double crit on mutilate but even then you are spending 35 more energy for 1 more combo point.
I dont usually play assas BUT last night stepping into solo shuffle for the first time i found playing outlaw or sub more difficult because SS is less about coordinating Gos and more about just damage.
I used bone spike cause it costs less than mutilate and i honestly won like 3 or 4 round of shuffle last night cause bone spike got the killing blow. When the low health player tries to run to los behind a pillar or escape the cleave train, one or 2 bone spikes end the game.
I dont know if its better or worse than others talents but it was working for me so im gonma stick with it.
Still rather be playing Sub but ill faceroll with the rest of my rogue brothers as assas in SS from now on.
in my burst rotation i cold blood/spike hits pretty hard and theres the never ending dot as well
