Seriously?

I was in a scouting group of three and apparently the two knew each other and decided to kick me for no apparent reason? And now I have to wait 30 mins before joining any dungeons or raids or scouting missions? Ridiculous, esp. when I did nothing wrong. Blizz fix this. I should not be getting a deserter tag when I haven’t done anything

maybe they thought your mog was dumb or that your race was ugly, they can kick for literally any reason or none

I mean, unless someone dcs or goes out of their way to be a jerk, I really don’t know why on earth you would vote-kick someone from a 5 minute instance.

Probably to invite a guild member or someone else they personally know. I have saw this happen many times over the years.

Eventually Blizzard is going to give in on these complaints and they will stop allowing players to remove other players from groups.

I dont think anyone should be forced to play with another player. I think there are many valid reasons to remove someone from the group, I will say though, a 30 minute deserter debuff doesn’t work well for Island expeditions. Especially considering that they’re 5 minute instances.

That being said, I’ve done quite a few IEs. Many times I end up far away from the other 2 members. I’ve never been kicked from an island. I feel like if it’s a common thing for you, to get kicked from IEs, than maybe it’s something you’re doing.

This happens all the time, you’ll get over it after your first rage post like the rest of us did :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

I agree. I believe we should not have to play with anyone for any reason at all - servers, regions, classes, skill, language, age, sex, anything. It should be up to the player what kind of group they want, that’s just not something that would be accepted today.

Given the constant cries about kicks from Legion and BfA that we’ve had it’s only a matter of time before those kicks are taken away. Players cried about gear, now they hand out heroic raid gear for trivial content. Players cried about PvP on PvP servers, they removed PvP servers. Players cried about twinks, they killed off the last remaining PvP twinks. Players cried about complex classes, the pruning happened. I could go on and on.

What is a “scouting group?” I don’t think Azeroth has any scouting organizations…

Scouting group? Are you referring to Island expeditions? Regardless, its unfortunate when others experience this but nowadays you really need to group up with people you know/created or you’ll need to have some luck when it comes to not being kicked. I for one haven’t gotten kicked as often on my hunter (I like to split off and do my own thing). I highly suggest maybe creating your own group or maybe finding an active guild to join. Hopefully someone in that guild will be willing to join you, Gl op!

I forgot to mention there may be a discord for running island expeditions

The deserter debuff is stupid, as it was in Legion scenarios with two players where they could just kick you (the invasion ones.)

They can kick if they feel like it, with the other party usually agreeing. Then you were just going to try to do this stupid thing, but now you have a 30 deserter debuff from it. This is DUMB. You should only get a

“DESERTER”

debuff, if

YOU

QUIT.

Blame the tanks that would afk until they got kicked to avoid the deserter debuff when they got a dungeon they didn’t like(Oculus).
Bad apples spoil the bunch and what not.

I made a post about this issue. It was instantly attacked by attention seekers swearing the system is perfect, and how “it happens” .

Nothing you say, or suggest will be good. they’ve decided by default you’re wrong, and anything you say is a stupid idea.

But it’s obviously an issue. It happens allot, allot more than people want to admit actually. It’s popular sadly to say nothings wrong than fixing things that are.

Maybe you can ask your guild to …

Have fun…

This - and the only time I ever initiated a vote kick was when we were half way done and the individual in question hadn’t left the boat.

I got kicked from a TW dungeon, I think for not responding to a whisper about a ring drop.

I say think because I was top DPS, wasn’t pulling agro, wasn’t taking unnecessary damage or doing anything other than getting my job done.

Didn’t even notice the whisper for some 395 ring until after I was kicked and was trying to figure out why. Maybe there was some other reason but that was the only communication there was.

So “/r no man I don’t need that ring” after I the fact. No reply.

They don’t need to do that, after all people have legitimate reasons to remove people. What they should do is compromise. Someone who gets kicked should not have deserter. They didn’t desert. They got kicked.

They could take it a step further and give then a short duration flag, so that if they queue again within the next couple minutes they get priority queue status, to deal with the fact that dps getting kicked sucks badly. Waiting 20-30 minutes in queue just to get kicked, get 30 minute deserter, and then having to wait another 20-30 minutes to queue again can literally eat half of someones playtime on a weekday if they only get 2-3 hours a day.

They should implement a system that uses a tiered form of punishment. Instead of having a debuff that prevents regrouping, they should have an initial debuff acting as a warning and any further kicks/quits would result in another stack that might reduce dungeon rewards. Like a 3 strikes and no loot debuff or something.

Just an idea, someone might have something better. I guess my thought process is that the initial debuff would help against out of the blue kicks from groups or a random disconnect. Anything past that would more than likely be that person’s own doing.

I agree with this, and I also don’t think a 5 minute instance should have a 30 minute deserter debuff. It’s necessary for dungeons, but very excessive for this.
