“Hey I saw this player killing something near a quest NPC. I totally didn’t help him or even invite him to party and just talked to the quest NPC nearby him because I made a baseless assumption that the NPC just re-spawns real fast. Later the guy ignores me. I can’t understand it! What a mystery this is!”
They did for me… the quest I’m talking about is the one where you have to let the different npcs out of the cages. Done it a few times now and have seen players open a cage and the npc respawns in less than 30 seconds.
Either way… point being dude wasn’t even close to the cage killing the mob but he decided to play victim as if I’m a mind reader and knew he was on the quest.
The one that annoyed me lately was you know that quest with the boars and the tubers and the scytheclaws in SMV? Where you need to blow the whistle and the boars are often too far away or dead so you need to kill the scytheclaws.
So I’m doing that PITA quest on my level 68 and I’m at like 30 mins into it. There’s me and one other guy there doing the work. Some guy on an epic flyer would literally fly around waiting for a tuber to spawn in the right place and then would take it. He didn’t kill anything he just kept leaching off the two of us doing the work.
He got put on the cross-faction KOS list since I have two accounts.
Who said anything about wanting sympathy? You should quit assuming because my honest feeling is idgaf if some random player wants to play victim for something as silly as this.
… and no, even if I knew he was on the quest I’m not gonna invite him to a group to kill ONE FREAKING MOB.
I’m one of those players that goes out of my way NOT to be a jerk in game… but the beauty of the internet is you don’t always know the intent of someone on the other screen and things are often taken the wrong way… as was the case here.
See, I didn’t even know that was possible. Probably because I didn’t even think about it. Not sure how much of that is good or bad. I’ve assumed it’s good–an attitude where, if you’re given a job you just do it, right? You’re not supposed to find other people to do your job because it’s your job…
My older brother, though, he was really good at finding ways of manipulating others into doing stuff for him. Not sure what it was, but he had a knack for it. I was never good at manipulation or persuasion.
Here’s a funny anecdote:
My dad told my brother to go clean the garage. He pouts but is eventually made to do it. My brother has a friend come over who says he wants to play. My dad says he can’t until he’s finished working in the garage. Brother’s friend goes to find my brother. About half an hour later, my Dad goes to the garage to check up on my brother’s progress. Finds my brother is just taking a seat, relaxing, while his friend is cleaning the garage.
Anyway, fast-forward 20 years later, my brother is an alcoholic, living on the streets and blames my dad for his problems. At some point in time, my brother goes to jail for something. He calls my Mom. My Dad listens to the story he tells my Mom. Dad doesn’t believe it, but still bails him out.
Couple of years later, my brother is still an alocholic. Still lives on the streets. Still says my Dad is to blame for all his problems.
Anyway, whenever I see folks like this in-game, taking advantage of others’ hard work, I think of my brother…
My experience has been the opposite. You have people like yourself that ramble on and on trying to get a rise out of people… the same thing happens on political forums which I troll a lot more than WoW forums.
You seem conflicted. One post you’re like, “Bye” but it seems you didn’t actually go anywhere. Very confusing behavior for someone who insists he isn’t trolling. Usually people who aren’t trolling and take thing seriously like to maintain some sense of consistency.
Like I said, your entire posting history is full of troll comments intent on pissing people off… Comments like you’ve made for the last 30 minutes… comments like this in other threads…
