Seriously? YouTube comments now?

Stop it. Just post here, devs. It’s insane that you won’t. There is no valid excuse or reason why you aren’t. Now we’re expected to keep up with random YouTubers?

We have to follow a third-party subreddit with its own moderators. We have to hang out in Discord servers that feel like high school cliques. We’re expected to check a “Not Zee’s” personal website. We even have to make accounts on platforms nobody wants to use, like Bluesky.

Meanwhile, everyone already has an account here. You have your own moderated forums, where players actually talk about the game. Yet you still choose to post everywhere else except the official forums you control.

It’s unprofessional. It’s insulting to the actual paying customers of this game. You’re outsourcing your communication and moderation duties to random people who silence anything they personally disagree with.

Just post here. We’re not asking to follow your brand. We just want actual information about the game. Nobody cares who you are. We care about the game.

I’ll come out and say I’d rather the devs feel willing and able to make off the cuff remarks on youtube or bluesky or twitter or wherever. The reality is that anything that appears on the official forums has to go through layers of vetting/translation/approval before being disseminated - a random YouTube comment or tweet from a personal account does not.

People might think “less personal account comments = more blue posts!” when the reality is that there would be no corresponding increase. The more engaged parts of the community would simply get nothing, and be made to wait for the Tuesday drops like everyone else.

The devs have dropped the ball in a couple areas (seriously, why are the Mage patch notes still incorrect after weeks?) but I would rather encourage “non-corporate” communication rather than discourage it.

No, that’s absolutely not the reality, considering this is a company that uses bots to reply to nearly every ticket sent. They could very easily use automatic translation which is what they do, anyways.

There is no requirement for posts on the forums from their personal accounts to be all “official” communication. The truth of it is that they just want you to bolster their brands. They are seeking attention. Exclusive communication is worse than no communication, because it puts certain individuals on a pedestal and gives a real advantage. It’s no different from Mr. Beast getting rich and famous from literally buying views of his videos with fake giveaways. They’re employing the same strategy for attention.

That’s a lot of words.

You could’ve just said you like to use slurs. That would’ve been easier.

you’re a down vote for sure

“Why won’t the devs post on the forums?”

Meanwhile, every other thread on the forums:

“The devs are stupid, and incompetent, and I hate them, and also they suck, and this game sucks, anger anger rage rage.”

Reason they don’t post here is because people like you. Karen Karenator from Karensville. So much whining. Appreciate that they communicate no matter what platform it may be

okay boomer

Yes. I would. People post it regardless. It’s their responsibility to read it regardless.

What?

The forums are the way they are specifically because they’ve abandoned them. The onus is on them to cultivate a forum community.

Exclusive communications are worse than no communication at all.

I don’t expect to keep up with bsky or YouTube posts. I let others report it so wowhead picks it up and reposts it for it to popup in my guild discords automatic news channel.

The forums were this way long before you or I ever used them and they will never change. You think they were BETTER before? You are out of your mind.

I’ve been using the forums since 2004. It was absolutely better then.

Then you have a terrible memory.

You realize you just said you weren’t using them before, yet somehow you claim to know how they were? Nonsense. The forums were absolutely a better place before.

Yes they were so much better that famously Tseric publicly ranted on the forums before disappearing and posted often and regularly about how rough the job of moderation was and how terrible the people on the forums were.

You are either lying about the situation or are ignorant of what you’re talking about.

He eluded to a certain man being a “Not see” in his opening post. Clearly something is mentally wrong with him.

This is their job? It shouldn’t be optional to engage with their community when they are running a subscription game. At the very least to explain themselves. They are so inconsistent, I dont think its any surprise the community is annoyed.

Imagine being in a paid position with subscription based customers like HelloFresh then refusing to communicate with your clients

They’re sorry and totally listening to feedback this time, for realz now.

In all seriousness its completely understandable why they stay away from this cesspool. Anyone who actually reads most of it would understand why. Its basically full of opinions from people who don’t even have any experience of what they’re talking about, so its not like these things would matter anyway.

As a recent example just a few days ago the forums were being filled with people talking about how amazingly well done the Scarlet Enclave raid is who later admitted to not having done it yet.

Yet they can post on a literal “Not Zee’s” website, class Discords that are worse than Rachel McAdams in Mean Girls, and now in YouTube comments, all of which are worse than anything the forums have ever been regarding how terrible people can be on the Internet. That doesn’t track.

Sorry pal, the guy that owns that site is, quite literally, that.
