It’s coming up October in 2 months or so and Shadow Lands (already in Beta so no changes now) comes on the tail end of Halloween (or Samhein the festival of Spirits for those of us Irish) in November and we still aren’t allowing Hunters and other pet/summoner classes to tame/summon the widely seen Aberration/undead NPCS like Skeletal hounds and such? Missed opportunity…
They said Q4 fall. Also, tons of changes happen now.
So just hypothetically speaking, say they “do” make some late expansion changes once everything is out (like with the open covenants announced later and the Class set transmogs) what’s something you’d absolutely adore to see later in SL?
Like… in general? In a later patch? I’d love to see playable covenant races and perhaps a proper take on Helheim in WoW.
Something like this:
In terms of later in Beta, I’d like to see more back attachments I guess. Maybe even allowing Protection Warriors to use two-handers along with their shields to get a sort of phalanx look?
Interesting yes, I always found it rather odd that Helheim in Norse mythology almost directly mirrored Valhalla with one major difference: While Valhalla was an extravagant paradise and feasting hall Helheim had the same routine (eternal fighting communion halls etc) but the food and drink and environment were all swill terrible by comparison to even earthly food and abode. Also mildly disappointed with the back’s shown, kinda wished the wings were “fuller” like those on actual Kyrians shown than the Pit Kid Icarus miniatures we have, though Covenant mogs in general (except the Necrolord mail boots) seem a little lacking compared to the Maw sets (cannot wait to try out that tail coat on the Maw mail pants with the Maldraxxus boots).
Hope they do launch it during Halloweve that’ll be a nice touch to the theme.
Seeing as Washington Irving’s Headless Horseman of Sleepy Hollow and by extension the WoW version were all inspired by an Irish Goblin/Fae spirit I’m shocked and disappointed we don’t have a giant Headless Horseman to fight in Ardenweald, now THAT would be getting into the wild spirit XD.
Also for hunter it’s hunter’s moon it just all matches ,come bliz it’ll be perfect
How about a solid no to letting hunters tame undead or aberrations. That’s DK and Priest territory. Stay in your own lane.
Well I did say “non-Demons” I am of course referring to undead which are clearly animals, not ghouls or humanoids. There’d simply have to be a patch to make humanoids invalid targets, like with how Worgen NPCS could be tamed at some point but had to be patched not to be tameable.
Still undead. Makes no sense to allow for that.
We already can, Gara is technically an undead, as are many of the spirit beasts…As well as Fel-rot coursers and the like.
Spirit beasts are one thing as they sort of count towards nature spirit/loa. Regular “pulled from their grave”/“reanimated by some weird means” undead should remain untameable.
I see no reason they shouldn’t seeing as the Skeletal hounds are presumably still dogs and such should technically count as a beast… undead or other wise. Aberrations after all are technically just unclassified. An animal is still an animal as shown by the tameable undead eagles.
I hope that Stormheim, Maw of Souls, and Trial of Valor were simply foreshadowing to a full-blown Hell Viking patch. Man I would love that so much. Imagine Odyn moves the Halls of Valor to the Shadowlands to assault Helya’s stronghold directly, and we have a patch island where we alternate between questing in Odyn’s Eternal Hunting Ground and questing in “True Helheim”.
Oh man, I know some people will hate this, but you know how you could legitimately establish The Jailer as a powerhouse? Have Odyn show up in The Shadowlands, start laying the smackdown on The Jailer’s forces, only for The Jailer to beat him down and capture him. Imagine facing Odyn as a raid boss later in the expansion.
Dude I’m hyping myself up too much! This is the real danger of fan suggestions - you start getting these massive expectations and Blizzard can’t really keep up with them and then you end up disappointed.
this is such a great idea, and now i desperately need it to happen
Demon bone dogs for the Warlocks too while we’re at it.
Honestly, we kind of got a bit ripped off in some of the themes. I’m hoping that post-release patches shore up some of these gaps.
We have 3 boney boi dungeons even though we have an entire previous expansion dedicated to Scourge. We have 2 Vampire themed dungeons as well as a Vampire themed raid and a Vampire seasonal affix. By contrast, we have 1 Angel themed dungeon. We have 1 Celtic dungeon. I understand that people are expecting this expansion to be Wrath of the Lich King 2, but WOTLK actually didn’t have that many Scourge-themed dungeons on release. They’ve very much front-loaded lots of the Scourge aesthetics, especially because they’ve made “Naxx Scourge” and “ICC Scourge” two separate factions, and then also made Vampires their own faction as well.
Dullahans are super spooky and could fit very well, I don’t know how they didn’t hit that mark. There’s also other creepy Celtic monsters. Really, dark age of camelot had an entire realm dedicated to Celtic mythology and they pulled in a lot of cool monsters. How Blizzard have one three-boss dungeon for all of Hibernia, I will never know.
It’s not like Odyn doesn’t have it coming to him. What he did to Helya was beyond screwed up.
Woot I assume everybody has heard the news? A new tome allowing Hunter undead pet taming has been added through the Necrolord houses!
