Abyss shard no longer spares you the cost of a soul shard when summoning the void. Only real use of it, since it’s handy in lower level areas where you can’t shard.
So what did Blizzard do? Removed that very handy function from the trinket, reducing it to mana cost saving (which is nothing anyway) and thereby rendering it useless.
You can do ST with 3 people so long as you have some form of cc. Mage, priest, good choices. Locks are awesome because as you clear you can fear.
The abyss shard was completely unique and totally functional. Blizz also broke the rogue cloak, but at least compensated with glyph of safe fall. A corresponding minor glyph for locks sparing the cost of a shard when summoning (a) pet would have been awesome, instead of the garbage minors there are. SIGH.
Issue is they can’t work out angles of old gear in new content. they design(ed) with 2 years in mind.
then bank on the player base 100% on board with must rip out all old gear. its old and icky…it must go.
some players go…I like this old stuff. it has som tradeoffs versus the new shiny stuff…but they make it work.
and this upsets the balace of the new expac. See BFA. you hated hitting 116. lego’s stopped working. and even non lego legion gear had to go.
and you had to use the crap BFA gear which was designed to make you weaker with ilevel scaling. one would think that new chest at +20 would be wanted. BFA said hahahaha, you got pranked.
the oddity here being they saw this road mapped already since a reboot.
