I am having a very difficult time deciding what to main in Shadowlands.
Has anyone come up with a good method of picking?
At this point I am considering rolling a dice. Not even joking at this point.

I feel the same. I have all these alts that I can’t bring myself to choose from, and I don’t want to sink time into all of them.
I’ll probably keep with this girl, as she’s been my main forever and she fits the lore.
But to your question, what do you do? Tank? DPS? Solo and don’t care?
I think everybody should go Hunter. Not only are we very cute, but we can have lots of pets now!
I want a 30 Hunter Ny’alotha run. Please let me know if you do this.

I feel the best healing. I am just tired to staring at vuhdo and not actually looking at the game. I feel like I didn’t get to see BFA. I mainly just tank now, JUST so I can see the dungeons instead of staring at health bars.
For SL, I am seriously considering DPS or tank.
I want to see the scenery, the dungeons, and the raids. Not stare at health bars hours upon hours correcting noob mistakes taking telegraphed damage by not avoiding it.
Just don’t pick shaman or monk, that’s my only advice.

Are they that bad now?
My highest choice so far was mistweaver…
I would never trust Blizzard with those 2 classes balance for more than one raid.

Try 'em all out, see what’s good.
No need to have a main picked out Day 1.

I run a few simple factors into my equations;
Can it Melee DPS?
Can it Ranged DPS?
Can it Tank?
Can it Heal?
Is it a Druid?
Why isn’t it a Druid?
Answer those questions, and you will acquire the knowledge you seek.

Be a DK! You have both roles you want, their lore fits the expansion, and they look great!

I already began leveling a DK, it’s 93 so far. I just made the terrible mistake of picking Vulpera for their tank racial ability. It’s so strong, but Vulpera look so wack.
Have you considered the extremely obvious: actually logging onto the PTR and playing all the classes you’re deciding between? Just throwing it out there…
Oh yikes…yah I’d reroll a different race, anything else.
Well, maybe not goblin or gnome. I like tall races lol
Going off what you’ve said, I’d recommend warrior, dk, or pally.

Play whatever your favorite is and then switch of something becomes obvious.

check the legendaries’ bonuses and then the covenant abilities and the unpruning for each class. you should be in a good spot to take a decision then.
it all led me to arms warrior - venthyr ; so far.
it might lead you to some other class ; that’s the beauty of subjectivity 
Play everything you might want to main during the pre patch. You won’t get to see how the class plays with all of the SL systems, but you can get a feel for the core of the spec. Enough to at least narrow down your choice.
