Sentinel must be good for PVP

Dark ranger is quite a disappointment for MM hunter PVP.

Other class’s hero talent trees give strong damage modifiers and effects, but the new mechanic for dark ranger is resetting Aimed shot.

Resetting Aimed shot in PVP will not be very beneficial for a multitude of reasons:

  • it’s quite hard to land Aimed shots in arena anyway, and you often sit at 1-2 charges of Aimed shot regardless
  • even if you could stand still and fire unobstructed, you’d lack the focus (even with the 15 focus gain on reset)
  • during Trueshot when resets happen 50% more often, you will overcap on Aimed shot charges because you’d want to use many other abilities too

Judging by the way previous expansions developed, class design is very unlikely to change from the initial vesrions.

So, the hope for MM hunter PVP in TWW is Sentinel. Please design Sentinel with PVP in mind and give it some better more useful mechanics and effects

Ideally, both hero talents should be equal in terms of pvp and pve, however with so many spec and talents in the game, its hard to balance them all. But they should at least be close to one another.

The problem doesnt lie within dark ranger itself, it lies within our core game mechanics of the spec, MM spec. It is MM and the 50 things which work on buffing/resetting aimed shots which should be fixed.

This was going off of what some big-name commentators have said: you’re having to choose one not because it’s the fantasy you want for your character, but because it’s the most optimal.

Blizzard didn’t learn their lesson from Shadowlands. The Covenant system, for its merits or demerits, barely translated into DF. Blizzard went ahead and completely overhauled the talent system, the 1-2-3 that had been in place since Mists for a total of FIVE expansions.

In theory, DKR and Sntl are supposed to be equal for both PvE and PvP, so MMs can choose whatever fancies them more.

In some roundabout way, Blizzard is taking a page from something that failed instead of what succeeded. One step forward, two steps back.

It will be so disappointing if sentinel is also dull. Blizzard do something with lone wolf plz! Or give us a non pet range class on rogue or dh
