So yeah, i am in the middle of my apparently neverending quest to get my Class mount alongside the Tome of the hybrid beasts and right now im going through the criteria to get the “Breaching the Tomb” achievement , i just got the “Mark of the sentinax” quest and i read in a guide that i am supposed to kill some elites around broken shore so they drop some sort of " colored beacons"? to summon mobs to kill and loot the marks
The thing is ive already killed quite a few elites and they havent dropped any kind of beacon thingy , is this some kind of rare drop, or am i doing something wrong here?
Any hint or lead on what to do or how to do it will be much appreciated , since im so close to finally getting the quests to get my mount and my hunting Tome , hope ypu can help me out here guys , thanks =)
They aren’t rare drops from what i rememeber. But you did have to do some requisite quest to make them drop. Don’t remember what quest though.
You have to farm the beacons when they are attacking I thought. Or they drop only when the Sentinax is active.
They are timed events, a few hours long. Shouldn’t take long to do…in theory. Heh
Iirc you have to kill them underneath the spaceship

Check out the first comment on the wowhead page for the quest:
Make sure you are under the Sentinax - you’ll have a buff.
Watch for the portals that open.
Kill the mobs that come out of the portals.
The drop you are looking for only comes from the mobs that come out of the portals.

And this is an elegant reply. Some of my toons still have the beacons of various kinds sitting in their bank in case any friends of guildies need to do that. So hang onto them if you can once done as they may come in handy later. You’ll be popular at parties.
Oh good, this is a nice hint and a good place to start, now i have to see how to make the girl who gives the quest appear to give me said quest cause she is not arounnd , i may be missing something , and i thought i was following the questline step by step so i wouldnt miss anything XD
I guess i still have to get used on how the mechanics in the broken shore work ^^U maybe im still missing something that should trigger some quests like the one you mentioned in your reply
I did this few weeks ago. Find sentinax on the map and farm portals for the marks. Kill mobs around the sentinax for hopefully getting a beacon. They’re programmed to drop them when sentinax is above. You’re looking at 30min-1hr work. If you can find/start a group in the group finder and farm it can be done in 5-10 min.
Okay so let me see if i got this:
First i have to kill the mobs beneath the sentinax EVEN IF THERE ISNT ANY PORTAL AROUND? so they drop the beacons to open some portals and then farm the guys who come from them?
AND before all that i have to trigger the drops by doing the quest Nobully mentioned above…Correct?
Okay sooo…any idea on how to trigger the quest from “Warmage Kath’leen”? i know i ask a lot of things but i am really confused about how all the campaign in the broken shore works and i dont want to do or miss something which could screw up all my work so far to get my Class mount ^^U
Grab the addon BTWQuests, it gives a nice tree interface for all the quest chains to see how far along you are. Bonus points if you have TomTom as clicking in the tree will add a waypoint on the map. Cheers!
