Sent 5k gold to an alt

Hey guys,

I mailed 5k gold to an alt, and then on the alt, when i opened the mail, it said the mail was unavailable or something to that extent in a red error message at the top of the screen, and then it retrieved only 5 gold.

How do i submit a ticket to blizz about this?

Thanks

I think you won’t see that gold again OP, sorry to say

There’s a guy over in the bugs forum who had 3 million gold “swallowed” by the game’s bugs a few months back and he still hasn’t gotten the gold back/no restoration was done as far as I know

alright

I rarely mail alts gold anymore, too risky. I use the warband deposit and withdraw system. While the warband has also had issues I figure if I do it in small amounts, even if I lose one I won’t be totally wrecked.

I sent myself one of my rhino tcg mounts, forgot, it got returned and later deleted. Lost forever. :dracthyr_uwahh_animated:

I feel lucky I guess since I’ve sent tons of gold to alts over the years and zero issues.
Now I just use the warband bank.

same and have used my mailbox like a bank storage since Crusade and have had no issues, sent millions of gold via mail to alts over the years.

I mail myself stuff all the time and don’t have issues. In fact, I use the mail as a glorified bank because frick buying the 3rd+ warband tab for obscene amounts of gold.

As for the OP, your best bet is to actually go to the CS forum and post there. No guarantee you’ll get addressed but trying to make a ticket is like a 99.9% chance it’ll sit there only to eventually be auto answered by a “have you tried any of these generic fix things for common issues proving we didn’t actually read your ticket and are just hoping this will answer/solve. Also we’re marking your issue as answered and closing now kthxbaaaaaaaaaaiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii” response

^This!

I’ve had too much lost in passing the old way (albeit a lot of my own fault).

Never had an issue mailing gold over the course of years I’ve played. I don’t believe the OP for a couple reasons.

Next.

a long long while back the game lost some of my gold.
I filed a ticket and they never even responded to it at all…not even an autobot response.
Clearly they dont care. More /played time for you regaining your lost stuff.

When THEY lost one of my mounts in an account migration way back when, the response was just to say “sorry, guess you’ll have to do the achieve again on another character” lol. LIterally admitted they could see I did the work and should have the mount, but refused to give it back

Since nothing belongs to you in the game, they certainly dont care if the game sends your stuff into the twilight zone.

Out of curiosity, why are you mailing gold when you can deposit it in your warbank and withdraw?

Yeah OP.

Use your Warbank, seems safer for transferring funds.

Thankfully 5k is a drop in the bucket, but if you need the gold desperately then I’ll give it to you.

Just let me know.

All Blizzard did was take a couple of zeros. No big deal.

I had a ton of heirlooms get destroyed back in WoTLK, before we had the current system.

They were left in the mail for too long, lol.

Had to re-buy the Arcanite Reaper and the valor plate heirlooms, that sucked.

We’ve all been there, maybe not in the range of 4 million gold TCG mounts, but anyone who has made this mistake learns to spend that 5 minutes extra to sort out the important stuff in their bags and mail before taking off for the night.

I’ve never had this problem, but if it’s gold of any significant amount or a chunk of expensive mats, etc., I send over an heirloom along with it. No guarantees, but maybe that will help.

Use the warband bank, maybe. It’s probably safer.

Why did you not use your warbank? Deposit gold into warbank, log alt on, withdraw gold from warbank?
