Are dragons just not immortal anymore or something???
He says something along the lines of having to artificially extend his life, and then he does the whole master Oogaway “My time has come” thing???
Being immortal means you cannot die from old age…
But… he says he had to extend his life using magic and stuff…
Which means he was always on a set lifetime…
It doesn’t make any sense whatsoever. I am fine with the whole “next generation of blue dragons need to step up” thing that was going on with his granddaughter, but killing off Senegos for no reason was really stupid. They could’ve just had him want to do smaller forms of work since he is still so old (Which still, doesn’t make any sense even in Legion, when his click-on dialogue was something about his senses not being what they were used to due to his age. Old or not, dragons are immortal and shouldn’t be losing their senses when they age like that. That is STUPID).
Aren’t the Aspects the oldest (Alexstraza, Nozdormu)? How come they don’t get affected by age? Is it because they were ‘titan-touched’? Shouldn’t all their spawn be the same way???
I don’t know how they messed up something as small as BEING IMMORTAL, much less on some side-plot that will probably be forgotten for 5 expansions.
You can’t say that the Aspects losing their powers made them into mortals since that isn’t really implied. They lost their aspectral powers, but that doesn’t necessarily mean they lost immortality. (Ending of Cata was still BS though…)
Blizzard don’t kill dragons for no reason challenge (IMPOSSIBLE)
Blizzard don’t screw over dragons challenge (IMPOSSIBLE)
Aspects are special where they are immortal because of the titan imbued powers or something.
Regular dragons aren’t. Also Senegos was something like 30k years old? Most dragons dont usually live that long because they die from something other than old age.
Senegos were showing signs of aging back in Legion. So it’s not a new thing. But dragons certainly aren’t immortal, despite what they say. At least not any more.
Perhaps dying of old age is such a rare occurance for dragons that most of them simply believe(d) they are immortal?
There is no such thing as dying of old age… Even when you are very old, there is ALWAYS a specific reason for a death, be it heart failure/cancer/immune system failure/etc.
No medical doctor has ever diagnosed someone dying because they were old for like 100+ years.
When we first came across Senegos in Legion, he was already badly ill and dying. We stemmed the damage, allowing a brief rally, but we did not entirely cure him.
Don’t worry. When we go back in time to an alternate universe “Wrath of the warlords of draenor Azeroth lich king jaina” we will fight a rezzed senegos in a council fight against a raised Malygos, Sindragosa, and senegos
Considering how often they get killed in conflicts, probably not that many lol
Considering the sheer number of dragon whelps I’ve personally murdered over the last 20 years, you have to wonder what their “reaching adulthood” success rate even is.
The immortality of dragons doesn’t really have a hard and fast rule
In general the Aspects were immortal in terms of ageing until Cataclysm, at which point they began to age again, however they’re still dragons so their “mortality” is still a few hundred thousand years
The Bronze Dragons also have a weird sort of pseudo-immortality thanks to their powers (as Chromie says in The Many Deaths Of Chromie “wait, I can’t die! … I mean seriously, I’ve visited my death, this isn’t it.”)
