Send code for forgotten password not working correctly

I have another account that was my original account, but I have since forgotten the password. I go to recover the password and it tells me it’s sending me a code to my email, it never shows up and I never get a text on my phone. I waited for much too long so I hit resend code. When I click “resend” I get a code on my phone. However, the code appears to be what should have been the code the first time I requested a code and the “old” code won’t work.
