Not always. The names I’m trading for other names are characters I deleted.
Was just curious if it were possible to offer that service. Some people dont mind selling a name for gold.

Nope, but it’s really damn stupid. Just give people last names. Trying to find an RP appropriate name involves tons of repeat letters and gibberish garbage.
They really should do last names. For one thing, people have been asking for this since 2004 and for another I imagine trying to think of a name on a server like Illidan is probably a nightmare.

If the character’s name is level 30+, then there is a 30 day lock on it. During that time, the account that the name was on can re-use it, but not other battle.net accounts.
Once the 30 days is up, the name is first-come, first-served. So someone else can technically snag the name too.
I think it would be interesting if they could add in some sort of selling feature for names.
