I think that it would be really neat if the mounts that have a chance to drop from rares or bosses were able to be sold on the AH or given to other people.
I tend to run the same old raids or dungeons over and over, and many times a mount will drop which I already have collected.
It’s such a waste for it to just be deleted, and it would be a nice way for transmog farmers to make a little extra money, or be able to give it to a friend or sibling.
It would just devalue them. Bots would be made to farm them enmass and they would end up worth like 10k gold max. 10s of thousands of demon hunters. Oh the horror.
If something is too easily accessible then nobody cares about it. You think people only care about the visual aspect of a mount ? People want something worth showing off.
The larger problem is that this incentivizes people to camp the rare mobs, keep their respawn times secret, and nuke them as quickly as possible when they spawn (less tags, less loot, less mounts on the AH, more money for the campers). Paradoxically, it would make it harder for the typical player to get these. We already see this on some of the older rares and rare hunter pet tames.
45 or not 45, Ive been doing all daily stuff for 100% and yet to see a single new mount lmao.
How does AH align with a credit card?
But legacy raid drops are not pristine. The really sought after, the best looking ones, the most epic ones, are generally from the achievement. There is nothing special about Anzu.
Just saying. We disagree on this and that’s fine. Since mounts have practically zero affect on the game, I support the fact that everyone should be able to access things/stuff/loot/content they want and do what makes them happy. Just my 2 cents.
Some do and some don’t.
It is a Blizz feature to begin with. Not using it would be like not using scope in any FPS. It’s there, just right click, but if you use it, your aiming skill prestige goes down. Just saying.
Besides, token is what, 150k? Some really unique and rare BoE mounts for for over a mil. A very handful of players would spend 1000s of $$$ on a flamingo mount.
These two things already happen a lot.
Boosting communities took over TLPD, Aeonaxx and the Camel a while ago.
I think they also target the Dark Talon and Frightened Kodo among others.
But making rare mounts BoE would be a huge incentive for bots, it would become basically the only way to get the open world rares.
Im sitting on one that Id love to give the wife that Ive already got.
I keep it just in case blizzard ever changes this silly restriction.
Let us sell a lot of the mounts we get just like we can many battle pets.
The point being that those who get the mount “legitimately” actually value the “hard to get” nature of the mount. When someone can use their Epic VISA to get it, it cheapens it for the rest of the folks.
If someone gets a rare mount on the first pull, most everyone else is excited and cheers that person, even if to drown out that this is their 100th pull. When someone just drops their VISA to do it, not a whole lot of respect for that player. They didn’t “work” for it, they don’t “deserve” it.
Now, it’s a video game, it’s pixels, but people still value “hard to get” pixels.
There are a lot of BOE mounts in the game. Not all of the mounts need to be.
