Sell me a book mount

not sure why you’d think this, WoW has never been easy, super casual and soloable. From vanilla to 8 expansions later it’s been over coming challenges as a group type of content.

I’m not sure what to say to this? like it sounds like you just don’t enjoy video games. “Stupid mini games” are the entire point of a video game, everything we do in any video game ever is a stupid mini game

who said that? first person shooters have almost no story and they’re massively popular games. Games like fortnight, minecraft, call of duty counter strike are all super popular and have little to no story, why would you think video games must be held to a strict only story agenda?

They could also just play the game? If you don’t see the end game cutscenes in game at this point its because YOU made the CHOICE not to. Its the not games fault you don’t like challenges.

challenge trophies are the aim of challenges, spelling bees have trophies too

playing on god mode with no challenge is often seen as the least fun way to play a video game, building something in minecraft is almost universally seen as feeling better in survival rather than creative. Over coming challenge and the feeling after is the entire point of WoW. Thats why the game’s lived so long its an amazing feeling.

again I don’t know what to say to this? I guess that’s fine but a game designed on this mentality will have a life of a week before everyone has everything and it’s boring.

good! you don’t deserve it. Normally when people on the forums say things like “oh you just want stuff handed to you without putting in any effort” they’re largely exaggerating but in this case that’s quite literally what you’re doing. This game is already insanely over priced why would making it more expensive be good for it? and on top of that you have people that spend time, gold and effort into getting better at they’re class/spec, spending gold on consumes and taking time to beat challenges and all of that means NOTHING because some guy that doesn’t like games doesn’t wanna play the game to get the games rewards. How is that good for WoW?

I’m afraid you’re mistaken. And absurdly so. World of WarCraft never required a group until you wanted to do a dungeon, raid, or the rare group quest.

I came out of Final Fantasy XI where you could not solo a regular monster your own level unless you were one specific class, and even that would take you over 5 minutes to accomplish. I hated it. When I first heard WoW was coming out, I refused to even consider it. I thought only idiots would play it. Then my friend was like, “Bro, look. They are advertising it as an MMO for casuals.” I saw the article, decided to give it a try, picked up a copy at Best Buy shortly after launch, and when I installed it and rolled my first character, I was amazed.

It was completely soloable. I got my orc hunter all the way up to cap all by myself and farmed out the gold for my epic mount all by myself, and it became harder and harder to log onto Final Fantasy XI because that game was work, and WoW did not challenge me at all. I loved that. I still do. If you think WoW is meant to be challenging to every player, you may want to check with some other people and re-evaluate your perspective.

Again, I’m not understanding where you’re drawing these conclusions from. I’m guessing you’re just ignorant to multiple genres of games. Kind Words would surely blow your mind, but it’s one of my favorite games of all time. Not every video game includes mini-games. Quite a lot of video games provide no challenge whatsoever and are fantastic.

Asocial individuals, introverts, and misanthropes all play World of WarCraft. We don’t like other people in general, and so we do not group. This is a core tenet of our personalities. There are people who will group and call themselves introverts, but they’re only mildly introverted. Some of us will absolutely not engage with other people in certain settings.

I role-play, but I will not do group content. My refusal to do content with others is essentially the basis of my initial attraction to WoW and has sustained me through 17 years of play. If you don’t think I play the game, check my achievements sometime. I get more play in than most people. I just do it alone. I also care about the story. Hence, YouTube.

It’s the most fun way for me.

I have no feeling after overcoming challenges unless you consider annoyance a feeling.

Hard disagree. The point of WoW is to tell a story and let you play a character who is a key figure in that story. Pretty obvious if you’ve ever played World of WarCraft. I’ve been following the story since I played Orcs & Humans right before WarCraft II launched. WCII really ramped up the storytelling compared to the first one.

To you, not to me. Everyone should have everything.

I stopped caring about “what’s good for WoW” when they ripped out my favorite /silly and /flirt lines. Now I care about what’s good for me. That would be a book mount on the cash shop. I believe strongly that Blizzard will oblige me sooner or later. I can wait. I have 454 other mounts to ride until they make up their minds. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

But we swipe our card every month! We should be able to dye our armour though, that would be pretty sweet.

Dungeons, raids, pvp and the rare group quest are the foundational pillars WoW was and is, built on. This has never changed, you may have found your own fun outside of that but the game has always been designed and advertised as group based. It’s strange you have this vivid memory of having fun questing and getting your mount in vanilla while also forgetting that vanilla was the ultimate God of being alt/casual unfriendly. It’s where the phrase “raid or die” came from. Questing was a one time deal until you hit cap than the game turned into raiding.

So I looked at this game and IMO it’s obviously not fair to compare WoW to this. That game is more a therapeutic exercise than a traditional video game. It’s a big reach to even call this a game, Kind Words is just two people writing letters to eachother with music in the back ground, fun? maybe but nowhere close to what most people would call a game. These two are so vastly different I’m confused why you would think this helps your argument. It also doesn’t appear to have a story attached to it and I thought story was the only point of a game? right?

Of course! anyone is allowed and encouraged to play any game they like including WoW, however that doesn’t mean WoW is/should be designed with them in mind. WoW is an mmorpg which the MMO stands for massive multiplayer online. If you hate people this game isn’t designed with your wants in mind. You are not the intended audience, Pokemon has a large adult fanbase but gamefreak doesn’t make their games with them in mind because they’re not the intended audience. It’s fine to find fun in other ways in these games but it’s important to understand the aim and audience of the game also. I don’t go into a sports game like Fifa expecting to see a great story because that’s obviously no that games intention.

and that’s fine in a single player game but whether you interact with them or not you’re still playing with other people in WoW. If I worked hard for something and someone else had it given to them I’d be pretty upset. Should your fun supersede mine?

this is unbelievably incorrect, The point of WoW is to interact with other people and over come challenges together. You see this in how the game is made, very little is added to single player content and the vast majority of resources goes to creating group based content. It’s interesting you bring up a single player game like warcraft and compare it to an MMO like WoW, but wait, in Warcraft don’t you need to overcome challenges to see the story? I distinctly remember needing to build a base and units in order to beat the opponents armies, isn’t that just a “stupid mini game” in the way of you seeing the story? was it bad then too?

to you, not me. Right back at ya. Again, should your fun supersede mine?

This is pretty petty. It’s a /emote. Did that actually ruin the game for you? How is spending even more money than you are right now good for you? I’d almost recommend buying a 3D printer and just printing all the rewards out so you don’t have to participate in any “stupid mini game” just print the reward. wave it around for a minute and go looking for the next thing to get.

Yes.

As for everything else, I find you exhausting and insufferable and I’m certain the feeling is mutual. We will never agree on anything.

Therefore…

classic,
digs a whole for himself to deep to climb out of then says “I find you exhausting”
no bro, we don’t agree to disagree.
I’ve seen your other threads and i hate this saying but after this conversation it fits here
you want the mage tower rewards?
Then git gud

I dunno, they almost always create another colouration of the rewards that are designed for challenges.

Maybe eventually down the road there will be another, for something similar to the order halls. Now that was a lot of fun.

I’m not a huge fan of anything being on the store… at all. Mostly because we already pay a sub, and I’d rather ‘earn’ things by playing over time.

Okay, we’ll do this. Your choice.

No, the fundamental pillar of WoW is the story about orcs invading Azeroth.

I am convinced now that you weren’t there. Vanilla was ridiculously easy. All you have to do to prove it is ask anyone who played or roll an alt on Classic yourself. I’m so done with you. You’re laughable.

Never turned into raiding for me. It was exploring and RP the entire time.

The only responses I have to this will all get me banned from the forums, so I’m moving on.

I don’t think so, but my fun should be considered just as much as yours. And, despite what you may think, it is.

See above.

I never claimed not to be petty.

Yeah, the voiced /sillies and /flirts are right up there with /dances in defining the personality of each race/sex. They are a huge part of the reason I loved certain characters. Losing them was devastating.

It would get me a book mount that I want, assuming such a mount came to the shop.

This is completely non-sensical. I want the mount for world exploration and role-play. It’s clear that you don’t understand anything outside of group activities, and I don’t even know where to begin. You don’t do anything I do and vice versa. No wonder you think I’d want to 3D print a mount. I play this game. From the look of it, more frequently than you do and for longer than you have. I obtain things to use them in the game I play, doing the content I enjoy. I don’t obtain things to “wave [them] around for a minute and go looking for the next thing to get.”

If you put half as much effort into learning how to play your spec as you do these posts then you’ve have finished the challenges days ago.

I do not want to finish the challenge. I have no interest in it. I just want a book mount I can buy.

I’m not sure that you could if you tried.

I mean, I don’t care if I can or not, so I’m not trying. :man_shrugging:t5:

That’s worse than failure.

Blizz has addressed armor dye in the past(2006)

Character customization is definitely something we would like to increase, but as far as customizing specific armor we would probably move to something that allows you to choose from color variants for some items long before we allowed actual free-form dying. That’s just my take on it right at this moment, but of course anything is subject to change.

As Cay said back in the day dyes are extremely difficult to do right as well, and would either be severely limited or just ruin a lot of the art put in to the armor. The ability to dye makes a lot more sense for certain games as the game and art style support it, but World of Warcraft just isn’t set up to do so, and tacking the ability on would contradict some core art philosophies for the game.

Like I said we definitely love giving players choices and the ability to customize, and that’s only going to increase as we go, but dyes aren’t currently something we’re considering for any future types of customization.

It would be cool but I doubt it’d be something that would work for gear in the game right now. It’d likely be something they’d add in a future xpac and then gear from then on would be able to be dyed.

No. Earnable things in game are good. If you don’t get one that’s fine. Neither will I and life will go on.
