Selfie cam

So I keep hearing references to this thing. I wasn’t around for the heap that was WoD so I don’t know what all the negativity is about.

Anyone care to explain why it was/is so ragged on?

Apparently Blizz worked on that for a patch instead of working on actual content.

The fact that raids were cancelled but a freaking selfie cam was advertised as a big deal is a tad dumb

6.1 was the first(?) major patch in WoW history that didn’t add new content. It was nothing but bug fixes, nerfs, SELFIE camera and Facebook link up.

p.s. This wouldn’t have been so bad if WoD was actually fun for non-raiders and pvpers.

It was in a patch where everyone thought content was coming out

And it was just the selfie stick

Honestly there’s a lot with WoD that Blizzard should be embarrassed about. I’d love to have some kind of tell-all during that particular time in the company to see what the hell was going on.

The dedicated an entire patch to it. Just that an dinne bug fixes. Ther infamous 6.1

wod was great for pvp, what are you smoking lmao. far better than legion

I meant non-raiders and non-pvpers.

Ahh I gotcha

you need to put the rose tinted glasses down. pvp was terrible in WoD, unless you were Human. and TrashCan was terrible.

even worse, it was Twitter integration…

Lmaolmaolmao

You need to put away the I Hate WoD glasses.

PvP was fantastic then. Last time it was worth a damn in this game.

For me, the selfie patch was pretty much WoD in one word: Unfinished.

Though I kind of suspect, we’ll be returning to WoD at some point to see another continents, finish (customize) our garrisons, and get the races there as allies in our fight against Millhouse.

Horde: Saberon and Ogres
Alliance: Botani and Podlings

Or something like that.

not at all… do you not remember Alliance having like an 80% win rate in random BG’s? do you not remember every ladder being like 80%+ humans? yeah no… was suuuuper cool dude…

Was it? I guess I got the two confused.

80% win rate is a lie, it was not really much different than a standard distribution

And you really are complaining about the human racial that much? You’re a blood elf. Yours had to get nerfed to the ground too. The top of the ladder has always been dominated by one race.

Random BGs don’t matter much and aren’t indicative of anything

WoD had good class design for pvp and played well. Pvp has been bad since legion hit.

no, it was extremely bad, and was close to 80% hence “was like” part of the sentence.

im not complaining about the racial, im complaining about the fact that everyone and their brother went alliance and human and it screwed things up. plus trashcan being terrible… it was not a fun time.

you probably started in WoD and thats why you feel its good. MoP was much better pvp wise, Cata was much better pvp wise, Wrath was great pvp wise. WoD pvp sucked. that isnt saying Legions was awesome, but that doesnt mean WoD was good either.

I started in TBC. PvP in this game was not bad until legion.

Yes, ashran sucked.

There was faction imbalance, it doesn’t really matter.

PvP gameplay was great.

keep trying to tell yourself that.

I’d expect a world wide winner who is mercilessly dedicated like yourself to know.

It was a class balancing patch 6.1 that had lots of class changes that people often forget. The problem here is that the vocal majority of people on the general forums are casual players that don’t care if you put ketchup, sour cream, or chocolate syrup on their potatoes, they’ll eat them regardless. The problem with 6.1 is that rather than getting more potatoes, the potatoes got chives, shredded cheese, and bacon, but no more potatoes.

AKA

This forum is a bunch of casuals and doesn’t care about anything besides new content, even if the other things that make this game enjoyable are all terrible. Even if the content plays terribly they don’t care.
