Self Found should be available for regular classic
Itās no skin off my back either way to be honest, but why does this need to be a special mode? Canāt you just play it that way on your own?

You are correct. I could do that. Iād be willing to do HC Self Found, but one of my friends wonāt do HC. I could talk him into self found in norm though
Get a brand new account and you get 30 days of self found

Maybe mention to them that if you die, you just get a free transfer off to one of the other servers. My partner was pretty HC adverse until I pointed this out, then she was happy to play HC. We made it to about level 25 or so and biffed it to a spider chain pull in Duskwood (as one does). We transferred to Mankrik and happily continued playing there 
Yea, just donāt trade with others. Or only with each other, which could be a fun way to play. If itās a question of willpower, thatās where having a dedicated mode certainly is nice, but at the end of the day it doesnāt matter much. These challenges tend to be for people who are already very experienced at the game, to provide a little more flavour to the journey. For those who arenāt experienced, they arenāt really necessary, and for those who are they tend to be easier to stick to.
It would be nice to have support for this on the live servers, but itās easy enough to just do it yourself. Either way, good luck to you and your friend!
You know thereās a lot of dumb requests for Classic wow versions and changes but this one takes the cake, Iām going to be honest

Since the code-base for all versions of āclassicā is now one clearly itād be trivial work to simply enable SSF in non-HC builds ā¦ it isnāt ādumbā to ask for it, people like you who think āI donāt want it so itās dumbā need to keep quiet so as to not look arrogant.
Sounds like one of your friends needs to man-up!
