so with 0 trading or ah what profession would be the best to have, enchanting ?

enchanting would actually be the worst profession to have as you need a blacksmith rod to make your enchanting rods.

Pretty much the consensus is go either Herb/Alch or Mine/Eng

that is right, didn’t think about the rod, yes probably alchemy then

Start with skinning and leather working, especially if going engineer. You’ll want some leather for goggles at a minimum. Plus you get the bonus of a couple stacks of armor kits, and if you wear leather it’s a double bonus. These are the easiest skills to level, and you should have everything you will need for lower levels in an hour or so.

Then move onto whatever TS you want to focus on.

Really it depends on what class you are playing. Almost all classes will do best with herb/alch or mine/eng, some classes will also fine other professions useful, for example a cloth wearer could go skin/tailoring (bags are nice also). Another factor is the challenge your looking for, as for example if you make a rogue, you could go skin/lw and while the profession would be useful the gear wont be that much better then what you can often get thru quests, and it wont have the big impact min/eng does on making the game far easier.

Really the only bad profession for SF mode is enchanting, as you will never really take it past 75 skill since you can’t make rods without min/bs. Also for most people who aren’t wanting to rush to 60 to raid, a lot of HC, and SF is simply the journey, so don’t necessarily limit yourself to the best and easiest professions, but choose the one you will find most rewarding, unless your a warrior, then the escape options of Eng might be to great to pass up.

Now that’s a real challenge, max enchanting on self found.

I suppose you could level mining and BS, make all the rods and then abandon profession and switch to enchanting. Lol

yes, taking skinning in the early levels, stocking up on leathers, then dropping it is very smart play.

yes it should be possible… but is there a lad mad enough to do it?

Your really leveling with min/bs then, If you want to do it right, you would need to level mining/enchanting, drop mining, take BS, level up to make your next rod with all the mats you saved, make the rod, drop bs, pick up mining and repeat for each rod.

With SF it also might not even be possible at higher levels since you would need to save up so many mats, as you couldn’t buy them, and bag space is limited, even if you farmed like crazy to get all your bank slots due to the small size of bags and the huge amounts of mats you would need to make something like the true silver rod. Oh and imagine the horror of coming up a few ore short.

yeah I would just do mining/blacksmithing until I made up to a truesilver rod, then drop them both.
you can buy an arcanite rod when you’re 60

you would need to get BS to like 225 first to make the Thorium Rod or w/e? Then start with enchanting. So it could be possible at lv 35 or so just a bit absurd lol :stuck_out_tongue:

Making ALL the low level enchanting gear completely useless.

this, but also skinning/leatherworking appears to be good for making gold fast :expressionless:

Why do people Necro 5 month dead threads that already were answered…

to be fair, this is like, the slowest WoW forum ever :expressionless:
