I was informed by a player on the UK forums that they have been on the PTR servers playing the Self Found mode. Thus I wanted to go see this for myself. Upon login and because I didn’t already have a player created. I had to create new, But on the same screen there is a small box right beside the chara with is checked enable the self found mode. Once in the world, I checked at the top right of my screen and noticed two buffs… but one would not actually gain any buffs. These two icons shows that you’re participating in the self found mode and the soul of iron mode. So my question is, if anyone already has a chara on one of the hardcore PTR’s could you please login and see if you’re given the “self found” check option before you enter the game. Just wanted to see if players whom already have chara are allowed to continue or one must create new.
Just wanted to clarify something… within the details of self found it says “some” mail… This means that some quest like The Family and the Fishing Pole where as Gubber Blump will send you a mail with Bauble included and yes this went through.

yesterday I spent a few hours testing the self found mode on the PTR realm. One main issue is that even though the small print says one can not use the AH, trade with others or some mail. I found that one can still use all three of these. I didn’t notice anything that restricted me from not using these three things. it was my hope to have entered into the world and NOT seen any Auctioneers and the mailboxes either alter to just receive mail or removed completely.
This is like telling player “oh you can’t use that during self found”, but the option is still there and players can continue to use this system and if they player does or can use any of these three, they would just end up get a slap on the wrist for doing so.
Again the Auctioneers need to be removed from the game and the mail system needs to either be removed from the game or altered as to just receive mail and not send it. if this is not altered before Self Found is released, then hardcore self found has become useless.
