Everyone I talk to is just like meh about it. There’s usually a lot more hype just before an expansion. I guess no new class and some lame allied race isn’t doing it for people.

If you are personally disappointed about no new class then just say that. You don’t need to create a facade.
I am more hyped for TWW than I was for BFA, SL and DF. But I’m also expressing my hype less because of those very same expansions lol. (DF isn’t bad it’s just not for me)

What got me “hyped” for TWW was the Sword of Sargeras in Silithus. Since BFA, I was intrigued what are we going to do about that sword since it was aimed at the heart of Azeroth. Now, in TWW, with the “saga”, we finally get to the nitty gritty of what’s to become of the sword and how if possible will it ever be removed by this expansion (how and why for the most part).
Also, the TWW trailer w/ Anduin and Thrall floored me, the graphics alone (i honestly thought that Anduin was a REAL actor, bc that’s how good the quality was) while the dialog persisted, I became more interested what Anduin and Thrall will do in this saga.
Another thing that also interested me, if you look at the promotional “poster” for TWW w/ Xal’atath as the “main” character, WHY does Jaina and Alleria look spooked? Their facial expressions looking up at something with “awe” expressions, while Anduin and Thrall are not paying attention while their facial expressions are “concerning” as almost they’re feeling sorrow about something. I can’t put my finger on it, but I can definitely feel tensions with (or between) Anduin and Thrall.

There isn’t really anything major about TWW that excites me. DF had dragon riding, SL had covenants (albeit they were a failure, they were alluring at the time) BFA had azerite gear + Heart of Azeroth, Legion had class halls/weapons, WoD had garrisons. What exactly is special about TWW? Hero Talents just feel like a routine extension on the tree rebranded as something cool to make it seem exciting. Delves are made specifically for outdoor soloists. There really isn’t anything to be hype about.
I am by no means trying to be a negative Nancy. I’m still going to play it regardless, but I agree the hype is glaringly lacking.

If what you are watching is forums, this is no surprise. Forums are notorious for being places where people who are unhappy about something go to complain.
There is a lot of discussion about how things will work but you almost never see anyone in an internet forum talk about how wonderful something is. And if they do, they know all those negative people are going to dump all over them.

I feel like it has been kinda meh with Dragonflight and War Within cinematics being weak. Maybe it’s hindsight but I have no idea why the new races aren’t featured in that first cinematic.

Each of those was a failure though (yes, even the artifacts - AP and spec-locking was a huge issue at the beginning of Legion).
They’ve learned not to try and reinvent the wheel every expansion. This is a good thing.

I was so hyped going into SL. The way that expac broke me I will never revover from to be hyped about another WoW expansion.
I’m looking forward to trying the new hero talents and for shaman finally getting a little love in the update department. Aside from that it’s not much different then a major patch: new season, new raid, new m+…re-gear - repeat.

I’m honestly not sure why people who complain so much still play this game.

I am excited. I do feel there is less advertising hype on the companies end tho. We have short stories, a trailer cinematic and the main cinematic. Only one of those things really expresses the lively adventures we will face. The other ones are like small stories of peaceful moments.
People may be taking it a bit easy with a “wait and see” attitude. Getting hyped makes it easy to be disappointed.
