Seems like Blizzard is banning people base on IP!

I’ve already heard from 2 friends mine got banned permanently this week on NA Server. They are all playing from China, and they both do skinning to self-sustain for raiding, actually I even did some with them too. 3 of 2 my Chinese friends got banned, the not banned one doesn’t do skinning at all. After reading the emails they got, it seems like Blizzard is just mass banning people base on IP and skinning.
I talked to both of them, Blizzard declined the repeal and any further request will not be reviewed.

Wow, Blizz really hates skinning. its been terrible for like 15 years, and now they are banning players for skinning?

The way I see it they wanted mail wearers to really struggle to buy crafted gear. Think of buying your legendary as a challenge mode. (For real though, the mail prices are insane compared to nearly every other legendary on my server.)

your friends should prolly stop collecting skin

In my experience Blizzard knows more than anyone is willing to admit about this.
But they do conveniently refuse to discuss any bans so you can never know for sure.

But I knew a guy who swore down for years he was banned unfairly and finally admitted it a few years back.

No one ever wants to admit it, but I doubt they were banned just because of their geographical location right?

That is exactly why they were doing skinning. Hell!I told them to do it , at least they can just craft their own.

73% of all statistics are made up on the spot

I know, I wear mail and I’m a skinner as well.

But i’m not a botting druid that never moves one pixel and auto-hotkeys or uses a bot program to skin bugged mobs that insta-respawn for 18 hrs/day.

When i see those, I click the report button as well.

Your friends were probably botting if they received such a ban.

It’s a 6 month ban so that means they can play in 4 weeks.

wanna run that by me again?

I mean I did skinning for 3 hours one day at the hyper spawn spot in Bastion. I wanted enough gold to buy feasts for raiding. It was so boring that I decided that fishing was actually more fun.

what lol… are chinese months different than mine?

i did more fishing than that in the dalaran fountain… check the cheeves.

Yeah the bots are insane there. I used to go there earlier before the bots took over. However I do gotta say using the magic banana from Pandaria to trip them when they go to heal is fun. No spells for you for a few seconds, let’s see how your HP holds up.

I suspect its the combination of both tbh. Both of them haven’t done any content except skinning for a few hours. Even i don’t trust them, it doesn’t look like coincidence to me.

Another wrath fisherman! Finally I see one in the wild beside myself. I was using my elite dial up halfway through wrath so blinking in dalaran disconnected me and Naxx 25 was a slideshow. At least I could fish up every coin (and I was poor and legit sold the coins as a way to make gold).

This is why i suspect Blizzard seeing them as bot as well. Me and others stayed in NA didn’t got banned at all for skinning at the same location.

Easily. You can tell if a moonkin is a bot if they aren’t using the glyph of stars. Nobody uses base moonkin form and enjoys it.
