Seems like a bummer 10-man rewards lower ilvl than 25-man

Hey that’s fair, that’s not my intent, my apologies.

Indeed.

This would be the crux of the matter. Is 25-man content more complex, and therefore more deserving of a higher reward? So far it doesn’t sound like it…

Indeed.

Coordinating and orchestrating the movements of 25 people is not easier than that of 10 people. Naxx 25 is not easier. You try hearding 25 cats as opposed to 10.

Clearly, you haven’t heard of sarcasm.

Yeah man, read the rest of the comment and maybe you’ll detect the sarcasm.

Sarcasm should be marked. Inflection is not broadcast in text, hence the reason people use…

For what it’s worth, I got your point :stuck_out_tongue:

I just don’t know if you’re correct or not… is Naxx 25 harder than Naxx 10? I know OS 25 isn’t but I can’t speak to Naxx.

Or you can rub together your two braincells and try to pick up on context clues.

It’s specifically OS3D that’s harder on 10man than 25.

Pretty much every fight has toned down mechanics in 10 man when compared to 25. The only reason OS 3D is worse on 10 man is because it is one of the only fights where that isn’t the case. I can’t think of a single Naxx fight that is easier on 25 than on 10 whether it be due to lower numbers or lessened mechanics.

Insults, nice. The moment someone starts insulting others is the moment their comments are meaningless. You were the one in the right here until you decided the appropriate response was to insult me.

Nice one…

That’s your opinion and I respect it. I have a different opinion, and that’s okay!

So some one can be right, but if they hurt some one else’s fee fees then they’re no longer right? Lol soft.

EoE is easier on the 25 person version IMO. Naxx10 vs 25 is about the same really in terms of difficulty (or lack thereof), based on my personal play experiences thus far.

This might suggest that the removal of mechanics for 10-man isn’t actually necessary. There are a lot of fights that feel extremely easy (even trivial) in 10-man. If they aren’t in 25-man, it doesn’t feel like there was much point in taking that mechanic away from 10-man.

I did mention this in my original post though.

Agreed  /10c

Its not always removed mechanics. There certainly are some like KT’s mind control, but in many cases the biggest differences are just numbers. The thing that is hard to really quantify is how numbers changes actually increase difficulty.

A good example is Patchwerk. At face value he shouldn’t be harder on 25 than 10 because while he hits 2x-2.5x as hard you also have the same number of extra healers. The reason why this is still a step up in difficulty is because that number increase suddenly means that a single mistake is a tank death/wipe whereas on 10 man a single mistake just means your healers are now playing from behind and have to catch up.

Another example would be 4horse where the back adds hits for many times more damage. The mechanics are the same and proportionally to raid/healer team size the damage isn’t some wild step up in difficulty, but the fact that you are taking so much more damage per hit means the room for error is significantly lower.

If all you do is 10 man runs you don’t need 25 man loot. 10 man is tuned to ilvl 200 difficulty. 25 man is tuned towards 213 ilvl geared people.

IMO 10 man content should be just as hard or harder than 25 mans and retain the same level of loot.

It’s not the ilvl, it’s that OS10 is legitimately the hardest content in the game right now. It is the only 10-man content that is harder than its equivalent 25-man content for WotLK.
