Be fair shadowlands sold really well. But ended in such a state people didnt want to come back. Not necessarily Dfs fault.
I don’t understand why the doomsayers cannot see this, we literally spent BfA and SL playing just because of FOMO, everything else sucked about those two expansions.
Why would anyone come back after the abuse of the Shadowlands systems that they finally freed themselves from?
well considering that shadowlands was released at the height of a global pandemic and almost the whole world was quarantined. yea i can see why it sold better than dragonflight.
And yet it wasn’t played as much as you’d expect during COVID. SL was just not great for most.
The intro of having drawf and troll flying going “teehee” and being some Avatar flying thing probably didn’t help either… With the factions being more open it’s not really warcraft anymore only in name.
Still I’m happy I can finally hang out with the cool tauren himbos though. They are just precious.
What did you expect? It’s mediocre with no noteworthy innovation. Add countless bugs and well… that’s dragonflight so far. Needs a little bit more than that.
Yeah and it was still one of the worst performing games on the market. People very quickly chose other alternatives over WoW.
DF is legitimately the best the game has been in years
Has engaged me less than Shadowlands.
But that also can be Zereth Mortis or late SL burnout that I never recovered from, or there is very little to do.
I’m sure its heaven for people that only do M+ and Raids, though. But I’m sure I’m missing many thing from it. Haven’t investigated, but after hitting 70, I saw my story gated behind renown grinded with little WQs and have been a little inactive ever since.
SL had great timing but poor execution.
DF had regular timing but the execution aswell as engagement has been stellar.
it’s time for new and revolutionary…
not…old and conventional.
sometimes it seems like they just don’t
GET it!
Of course since DF has less content for casuals. I AM KRUMTOILET!!!
Hey, Blizzard bit the hand that fed them, that being the hand of the customers.
It’s no surprise.
Those of us that are still here are the die-hard fans. A large part of that is folks that play only classic, not even touching retail anymore.
Wrath is the end of the road for classic as well, unless they go Classic +, of which I might actually try that out. I’d believe they won’t because its more resources they’d have to pour into the game to make a new route for classic to go down.
And even we are in agreement that this (Dragonflight) is an okay-ish, middling expansion for the most part.
Better than what we’ve received in the past, but there is still a lot of goodwill to make up for.
…no its not
so dragonflight is now called badgonflight. just like badowlands, BADdle for azerBAD, legBAD, badlords of draenor, bads of pandaria, catabadism, wrath of the bad king, the badding crusade, and world of badcraft.
Why cant blizz make this game good like it used to be back in warcraft 1: orcs and humans?
DF is so much better than BFA and SL. Not even close.
Everybody has their limits and more and more have reached it.
By continually pushing people towards end game and Mythic+ content, and class changes with the FOTM, people just get tired of chasing the carrot while being beaten by the stick.
People have been saying it for years, this shouldn’t be a surprise to anybody.
For what it’s worth, this expansion is better than the previous two, but that bar was set really low.
The Blizz Quarterly report says player retention is higher than recent expansions, which supports that.
“In the Warcraft franchise, World of Warcraft delivered significant year-over-year growth in reach, engagement and net bookings in the fourth quarter following the September release of Wrath of the Lich King® Classic and the November launch of DragonflightTM. While early Dragonflight sales have not reached the level of the prior expansion, community feedback on the title has been positive. Blizzard has announced plans to deliver substantially more follow-on content for the expansion than in the past, and post-launch subscriber retention in the West is higher than in recent expansions. Elsewhere in the Warcraft franchise, mobile title Warcraft: Arclight
RumbleTM continues to progress well through regional testing.”

sl was terrible and df is steppin up to the plate. it isnt the greatest but the general conseuses w/ the players is that its better than bfa and sl but it isnt perfect. the thing is people were so burnt from the last 2 expansions almost anything would work in the favor but this isnt enough.
this is what happens when u have repeated bombs expansions and now the players are wary of returning. hopefully df just has more going for it later but so far meh, its ok but just boring mostly and the decisions they make are questionable but at least we get some good decisions in it.
lol what? holy cow thats a horrible take
