This is just a shot in the dark really, but wondering if anyone has this name or know the player who has it? I just transferred to ED from WrA where I had the name Ramulos, and kind of disappointed to learn that its taken, but the character isn’t even on the Armory.
No help from GMs, it seems a name becomes available if a player hasn’t logged on to their BNET for two whole expansions. If they log in to BNET at all during that time it seems to cancel the reset timer on the name. Not a big fan of this system…
Im pretty sure they have to log in or sub to WoW. Not just Bnet.
You probably wont have much luck, but just keep it in mind for DF to check for it.

Yeah that’s what I’m hoping for. Still a ways away but it’s a strong possibility considering the game population has dropped a bit.

When did they change the naming system and cause it to "reset on btag unless Im totally reading this wrong?
I did a little research on my own after reading up on it and found a person on my bnet who is still there but they haven’t logged on for 2 expansions and I was just able to grab the name on ED. Amory is gone too.
Keep trying to contact a GM or some sort of technical support. I could be totally wrong but I just logged in and was able to make a Toon with their old name and got it right away. (I deleted it in case someone wants it

Pretty sure this has been the system they’ve used for a long while.
Still feel like they should restrict it down to a single xpac though. 4 years is a LONG time to keep a name locked up.

Yeah I made a suggestion to at least make it so they have to log into the character, not just the BNET. A Gm told me if they log into their BNET to even play Hearthstone or some other Blizzard game, the names relock until two expansions. That seems a little ridiculous…

Yeah, it sucks. I remember back in WoD that’s when I realized i could just open a ticket to get a name released. I got some great ones unlocked. But silly me let them all go lol

I tried this, a couple times at least and GMs adhered to the more recent policy. I’ve heard of asking for names to be released but I don’t think they do that anymore. Sucks really…
Yeh, its set to the timer now, so they dont mess with it anymore.
