Am I missing something? Looks like there’s maybe 30mins of content max, especially for Horde.
Or is “you can ride your dragon mount in the old world” considered amazing content?
And according to the roadmap, the next patch is just rehashing all the raids we’ve already spent the entire expansion running and calling that amazing content.
It seems like we have this same conversation every .5 patch…
There is never a lot of new content in .5 patches
There will be a 4th season, another small patch, and a prepatch…but judging by your expectations for this .5 patch, yeah you will probably call it “nothing”
pretty sure that took alot of work with the programming, skeletons, animations, zone changes etc. etc.
I’ve been making 3D art assets as a hobby since 2014, so not long, but long enough to know how much work goes into making an animation and rigging/weight mapping a skeleton.
This is a big one people also forget about. We’ve been seeing visual distance updates to old maps for a few patches now, because they’ve been working on this for so long. Skyboxes were a bit wonky in spots, the visual distance needed to be fixed… none of that was easy or quick.
off topic…
If one would like to give it a try there is “Blender” for free to make the assets.
There are other programs but the top of the line software can cost $10,000 per user/seat.
For basic animation and rendering there is Daz Studio with is also free and easy to use.
Daz Studio also has a store where ready to use assets can be purchased for a “plug and play” type experience that is relatively inexpensive considering what ready made assets cost in the industry.
Daz Studio will get you started with the animation and rendering part free. Learning to make the assets is a bit more involved.
Unreal Engine is also free, for hobbyist, if one would like to try their hand at “making a game”. It even has premade “games” to help get you started.
10.2 was also pathetic. The zone added was awful - the key feature outside of the raid (which was good) was afk following around a tree for a bit while it fell asleep. And then just the usual rehashed world quest rubbish they’ve been doing.
Lately, you are correct. They are obviously in maximum rehash/exploit, minimum effort mode and have been since Legion. They could release content that was good enough, but it would require them to do more than the current formula they’ve been following for a while now. ie
Create a new zone with mostly existing assets
Create a “public event” that’s boring and mostly pointless.
Rehash a bunch of world quests that give pointless rewards.
Put a bunch of rares in, with pointless rewards, and call that compelling content.
