you know there have been countless posts about “i’m leaving wow and not coming back”
this is only partly one of those posts. I’m not just leaving World of Warcraft. I’m leaving Blizzard as a Loyal customer and i will never buy another of your products again.
I have been playing Blizzard games since I first picked up original Starcraft and played it with my friends on Battle(dot)net we had fun and over the years we migrated to each new title enjoying what creative vision you had to share with us. This vision has become clouded in recent years. This final quarter of the year has Solidified my resolve that you are no longer Blizzard Entertainment.
These last few months you have gone too far.
- You have Ruined the lives of thousands of professional Esports members in Heroes of the storm. with your callous decision to suddenly stop everything in 2019. The blizzard I once knew wouldn’t throw their family out to dry like this.
- I no longer feel that fun first is core value of the games you create. I feel that you blindly follow spreadsheets of numbers that you think tell you what is best for the company. I’m sorry to tell you this but numbers can Lie. Numbers can’t account for the human element. Numbers don’t have emotion. Numbers don’t grow up playing your games. You can’t quantify people as numbers on a spread sheet to maximize profit.
- to the new Deceptive business practices such as creating artificial Scarcity to drive sales at the end of Q4.
- and losing touch with your core fans that have stuck with you from the very beginning. Yes, we have phones, but we don’t play games on them. We play games on the expensive Computers we have that we use to play titles such as World of warcraft to Diablo 3.
There are many other reasons but I’m done, I have uninstalled All of my Blizzard titles and I won’t be returning to any of them. Ever. So this is goodbye to the company I once knew and loved. The company that helped me grow into the person I am today. the Company that was there for me in hard times and good. To the company that was more like a Family then a real company.
Goodbye.
sincerely, A once Loyal Fan

the more people unsubscribe the better.
It can only go 2 ways:
- fix the game
- make it free too play with more micro transactions.
But I can see why loyalty is all time low in this game.

Thank you! I have found new friends in FF14. I’m not going to say anymore but that I feel the developers listen.

I feel ya man. My sub runs out in a couple hours, played since the beginning across numerous titles. Since numbers = strategy to them, let me minus 1 from their data.

It’s really sad seeing Blizzard kill itself. I never thought I would see a game company implode like this. It seems like they have purposely made every decision to kill their games. Every one of them.

Are you also counting callers, catering and cleaners?
Sucks to hear, regardless of how much people are going to discredit you for saying something that has been “said enough.” There are serious problems with Blizzard right now, regardless of if they want to believe it.

It’s all the people cheering people going that are going to be the funniest in the end.
“Yeah, one more person go! The game is less toxic, more fun for us!”
They chant as they look around at an empty server, can’t get groups, don’t have the io levels to match anyone who might be left in that scene, and so on.

See you later OP, honestly I’m pretty much in the same boat but with a different mindset. I stay because I just am so convinced there’s no other gaming company with those values anymore. It’s depressing but it’s like I’ve just accepted this is the way things are now. There’s nowhere for me to go, and boredom would kill me first. So I stay even if I don’t like Blizzard anymore, I guess it’s both addiction and loss of faith in any company.
I wish you luck out there OP.

By the way? Activision is now selling a red dot for $1 in CoD4. They had zero microtransactions until the votes the critics made, then they stuffed the game full of them, hence, the red dot being sold for $1.

I mean have you looked at Bethesda and Fallout 76?
But yeah, sure, releasing a subpar expansion and a Diablo mobile game are totally on the same level of corporate suicide.

If they are measuring success by “time played” then, unfortunately, I am one player lowering that number. I wanna play more, but it’s just not so easy nowadays and it’s not burnout. For instance, just release KT Humans already. Jeez. It feels like I am being drip fed content to just string me along. Was that the case in the past too? Yup… but now it just seems way more obvious, like there is less thought going into the necessary timesink aspect of the game.
Also, while I have had bad runs of luck before, it has never been like it is now. I really feel like the dice are weighted. LOL “tinfoil hat” memes all day, it’s whatever, but I bet RNG is not RNG they way players used to love to declare. With RNG being the bread and butter of what keeps folks playing, the temptation is too great for them not to tool with RNG for it to even further favor the house. An easily manipulated, unregulated, pretty much “time casino” where that time is indeed money? The temptation is too great not to weight those dice in certain circumstances (e.g. not weighting them for every player/toon the same time and way). Heck, tbh, I’d probably weight the dice too /evil grin! Many people would, and I really don’t believe Blizzard is an exception. It’s not a bash against Blizzard or anyone there per se, but it’s just how folks so often tend to be.
Either way, this game like refuses to give my one toon a ring. Did LFR a number of times, targeted bosses with bonus rolls… and all I get is nothing or some useless loot. It really saps my desire to play when I feel an almost certainty of losing a roll.
Then the modern zones. They are beautiful indeed, but traversing them is just so exhausting. I don’t want flat, bland, and featureless zones, but at the same time these zones are just so often annoying to navigate. Mobs are so densely packed it goes beyond a sense of danger and is just one of being pestered.
All that said, I still love the game. I still play and want it to succeed, but I have just been spending a lot less time in it.

I like reading these post because players have different reasons or similar, bit different. Hopefully they fix this stuff and it will bring back players. Until then enjoy your time off.
