Is it possible to see people’s alts without having them added on Battlenet? If so, how?
get them to post a screen shot of their character select screen(s) ?
I meant like, is there a website or something that allows you to see their alts?
Only wowprogress if they have alts linked there, other than that if there’s somebody you think is somebody else, you can look up both toons on armory and match their battle pets or mounts.
I’ve gone to wowprogess before actually, but I’ve never been entirely sure on how to navigate it. Any idea how to see someone’s alt there? Thanks either way
Basically what Purplelime said. Too many stalkers who feel that they need to know who someone’s alts are.
Believe it or not I’m actually asking so I can hide my alts from those very people
I understand, that’s why I block as much as I can. Stalking people here is far too common and people love using alts as some kind of response blanket. Example:
Poster: insert point here
Stalker: hur hur hur! Blahblah is your alt!
Poster: So?
Stalker: hur hur hur! But I know who your alt is, so your point is invalid!
Poster: Uh…
Or they like to point out things your alt(s) have not done, to justify them saying you have no basis for joining a conversation. Some guy tried doing this to me last week. Who cares what my alt hasn’t done. It’s an alt…
Or they accuse you of hiding on an alt and declare your point invalid.
Way I see it is that if someone is looking for ways to declare your point invalid without attacking the point head on, then they’re just doing so as they can’t give a good counter argument.
I agree. Ad hominem is not a good counter argument.
I’ve been in plenty of discussions on here and the very moment someone starts using ad hominem, they’ve lost and there is no point in replying further.
I think it’s only possible to track someone’s alt on wowprogress if they are level 120 - unless I’m missing some other ways to find out?
And yes, like the above poster says, they have to have their own characters actually linked to show up on there.
Therefore I don’t think you are “in danger” of being tracked by whoever you want to hide from atm.
If you sign up for Wowprogress there is an option to hide your characters, so if they look up one of your characters names it doesn’t show your ‘main’ or whoever of your characters has the highest M+ score. There’s also an option in-game under Interface > Social that’s “Display only character achievements to others” That prevents them from comparing many achievements. The problem is that there are still other ways to compare people and figure out who their main/other characters are but at least it’s a lot harder to do that way.
There used to be many sites that showed player’s alts, but almost all were shut down for reasons. I’m sure stalking and harassment are main reasons.
and raiderio are two I can think of that show alts of people who are willing to link them.
Nope unless you have their alts on your in game friends list. You have to add each and every single character.
Also tho-- in game you need to make sure players can only see the individual character achievements and activities.
It’s in the interface, under I think Social.
Otherwise, if your alts are all in the same guild, they will be able to educated guess to which alts are yours through the achievement points.
If you’re being harassed, put in a ticket. If you’ve already blocked them on one character and they’re continuing to bother you on another, or if they’re going out of their way to bother you on your alts, it’s an actionable offense and GMs will handle it.
This may work in game but if the OP is being harassed on here, I can confirm that this does not work on here. Harassment on here, a blind eye is turned to it.
That’s when you bring up the forum CoC to Blizzard, and e-mail wowcmfeedback@blizzard.com if you have to for forum staff not doing their jobs.
Been there, done that. The response was “if you feel you are being harassed, flag the post and the moderators will review it.” Flagging did not work after over a dozen stalking/harassing posts from the same person.
It’s likely due to the staff changes. Years ago, this place was moderated by people with college degrees. Since most of those people are gone, I read somewhere that it’s now a minimum wage job. You get what you pay for.
I’ve recently started to want to have the option of showing up in game as my Bnet name instead of my character name.
No there are others ways. In that titanforging thread, one guy claimed his dh alt was ilvl 395 or so and he never step foot in a raid and only did low mythic pluses.
It was extremely easy to find his alt by just checking his guild roster.
