A new in-game event has appeared on the Dragonflight Patch 10.1.5 PTR. Between August 30th and September 13th, players will assist the Preservationists to discover clues and rare treasures to unravel the Secrets of Azeroth!
Archaeology would make too much sense, too much potential content for those gross “casual” players… nah, the “elitist jerk” probably has you do laps with your flappy bird mount to blow dust off the artifacts in the most unintuitive “land on the head of a needle accuracy” sort of thing that dragonflapping was not made for.
Hoping so! I miss archeology. Lotsa little things to find out. Morally dubious in its current form - especially with its uh - irl counterpart having a history of thievery.
If we got to work with cultures, or take commissions from them to go to dig sites in exchange for more relic pieces, I’d love that.
Like, take for instance, the Vrykul in Northrend. You could have a person there who’s not affiliated with King Ymiron and opposes his conquest of the world, tasking you with preserving as much of their culture as possible before it’s lost forever.
As long as it’s not “we’ve scattered ten 2x2 pixel invisible rocks under bushes across the world that will become briefly visible only if you perform the right three secret emotes while naked in a rainstorm at night”.
