Secret to dealing with RSS mmr

Just had two 3-3 games today where I got +40 and +28 respectively.

The next game I went 1-5 and lost -39. So I’m still ahead from where I started the day.

Every player in every single ranked solo queue video game in the world thinks they belong in higher mmr than where they are at.

Nahhh, I know I’m where I should be provided I’ve put in a decent chunk of games. Still frustrating to have close matches thwarted by teammate doing something silly, though. :dracthyr_heart:

Lmao did you actually write this?

Because I’m not Shaz, nor am I an awc competitor (or a multi r1). I’m just a chill boomer who understands that being able to constructively criticize yourself and using that criticism to work toward improvement is one of the most important skillsets in game and irl.

Stay mad and keep telling yourself whatever you need to so that your ego can cope. I’ll be the scapegoat you need (but don’t deserve) to rationalize your failure(s). I don’t mind :slight_smile:

Mad people: “I can’t do this or get that because x, y, z, …, rip /cry”

Successful/happy people: “I can’t do this or get that right now. Let me think about what I need to do so I can do this or get that”

Too bad you don’t take your own advice. Do have fun whenever Blizzard lets you back.

I think what we can take from this is nerf hpally.

Nice bait and twist (though I’m not making an excuse really, I’m acknowledging that I’m much less skilled than these players, and am therefore not as high rated);

the important difference you’re not acknowledging is that I’m not whining about Blizzard devs, the matchmaking algorithm(s), partners not using cds when they are on my team, bad lobbies, etc. (you know, all those things that everyone experiences pretty much equally, or close to equally over the course of hundreds of games);

even more importantly, I’m not gaslighting myself into thinking I belong at any other rating aside from the one I am at, whether that be rival, duelist, elite, doesn’t matter (if I’m stuck rival on a toon + I want to be duelist on that toon, I make a commitment to improve/figure out what I need to do/what it will take for me to get duelist; I don’t make excuses for why I’m not where I want to be).

Most will mald (or they already are malding), but if even just one person takes a step back and realizes that what I’m saying is true (not trolling), then it’s worth it.

Another undervalued step you can take towards improving is at least trying to reach out to someone who is at (or above) the rating you want to be at, and ask them for advice, tips, constructive criticism, etc. If you do it politely/sincerely, many would be glad to help.
