Secret .6 patch hype

I have no idea what it is about save from the skull which implies pirates for me? That’s all I got. Not feeling particularly hyped, I think it would have worked better if they started spreading some crumbles of clues around the Dragon Isles or something like that, a puzzle mini-game for the community, maybe a new clue dropping every week, etc.

I’m curious about it. But trying to temper any expectations.

Not hyped. Just wish they would hurry up and rip that bandaid already and get it over with

if wowhead wouldnt bring it up i would forget about this patch completely. odds are the patch will be dumb it wont go over well and blizzard will blame us for it rather than accept the secrets and no ptr was dumb. need content or something to look forward to to keep people subbed

I was curious at first but using a pirate flag makes me think its something related to pirates which i dont have much interest in at all when coming to wow. On top of that the content and changes i would love to see in the game either will never happen or will happen way to late.

I believe before this game ever gets good again that the reason they are trying to finish this story line by 3 quick expansions back to back is so microsoft can disband Blizzard completely and sell off all their ip’s to other companies including WoW. Maybe if the wow team does good enough after this 3 expansion trio they can stay while the rest of the company gets removed but i’m not seeing it.

Not overly fussed. I’m current farming Argus mining nodes primarily anyways. It is a nice change though to block wowhead from getting their grubby paws on it early. So that’s good.

I didn’t care at all until I saw a clip from limitmax talking about it. Didn’t give details as I’m assuming NDA but said it seems cool and looks to be really fun.

Intrested peaked after hearing that.

I am never hyped on little patches, only for major patch releases. For all everyone knows that this patch may only include a stick of chewing gum.

Same. Then certain content creators can stop building false hype and predicting the blue of the sky, only for it to turn out, as it so often does, to be yet another disappointment.

I mean, the “features” of TWW already reveal everything one can expect from WoW in the future. And if an expansion already looks so meager, then a small patch will surely be a joke when it comes to content.

I’ll be surprised if it has anything to do with pirates.

uhm…wasnt the patch just server infrastructure update?

There was no patch. Just maintenance. 10.2.6 hasn’t been released yet.

Here, have fun with even more FOMO.

Yeah,as expected, the hype surrounding WoW has long since dissipated.

I didn’t realize there should be any hype for a .6 patch.

I feel like a lot of people place hype on things they know they shouldn’t, then get disappointed when their hype is not met. Despite evidence saying it never was going to happen.

I see that happening with hero talents now.

I’m not hyped for it, just another patch.

But I can’t wait for the big event to be lvl 70 Elite Tauren Chieftain to come back and Rick roll us.

Seriously idk what’s happening but it will inevitably let people down. Especially with this community. The secret could be playable ogres and y’all would still be like “ALL THIS WAITING FOR A DUMB RACE WHERE IS MY -insert niche unreasonable demand here-!!”

The way the developers were making coy tweets about it makes me think THEY think its going to blow us away. It kind of reminds me of how the developers were acting before Shadowlands was announced, when they kept saying how proud they were of what was coming and they couldn’t wait for us to get it.

They’ve definitely failed to generate any hype. I fully get and respect the experiment of not doing a PTR to prevent datamining ruining every possible secret, but I don’t think keeping full radio silence on a high-level overview or even the premise of the event is the correct route.

I dont know like any other patch, iv heard some people are mad cuz they dont know what it is and are leaving the game

Wild and baseless speculation:

Now that Microsoft owns both Rare and Blizzard… could this be a Sea of Thieves crossover?

Very unlikely, but I didn’t say baseless for nothing!

I have no hope for it.

Right now I view DF as being like a Warlords of Draenor, or what many of you saw Shadowlands as - being in a state where the game needs a paradigm shift to put it back on track. The problem is that Blizzard doesn’t see it that way, Blizzard is staying the course even though Retail is a big fat L in my eyes right now. So I have no hope for anything worthwhile if Blizzard doesn’t think they need to “pull out all the stops” and “break in case of emergency”.

That said, I’m not too down about it, since SoD has been amazing.
