Getting ready for Shadowlands, I’m for sure going Engineering with my first profession. I just enjoy the quality of life it offers. I just can’t decide on the second profession. I thought maybe Blacksmithing for the legendary crafts and Keys to open my own lockboxes. But just can’t decide. I know I def won’t do Mining. I can’t stand gathering professions. Their boring and I can make more gold other ways to just buy the ores and stones off the AH. Any thoughts from the community on this?
My main is an engi/lw, but I have a swarm of gathering alts to help me avoid the AH if I want to. I’m pretty immune to boredom and (more importantly) I don’t obsessively gather. I gather while I’m actually playing the alt. Less efficient gathering, but good enough.

Yeah I’m done with alts, one character for me. Just recently went through and deleted them all except 70 rogue, and my Classic characters. Just no desire for Alts. and gathering in general just isn’t for me.
Mostly a toss up between Blacksmithing, Enchanting, or Alchemy. Kinda leaning away from Alchemy.
guys I too have ENGI, on almost ALL of my characters because nitros --> gliders --> fun --> jeeves, mailboxes, wormholes etc its fun/useful… But now after reading some stuff, they are bringing back gliders which okay neat but some of what I was reading kind of made me get this sneaking suspicion that the nitros will have a level cap… like older enchantments --> useable on items lower then ilvl 200, God this kind of makes me wanna throw up, I legit might even quit if they do this because of how many of my toons have nitros and its usefulness on some of the classes that have zero mobility.
To answer your question though, yeah blacksmithing might be the way to go… I often take tailoring as my second profession on many engi alts because of the nets usefulness in battlegrounds so i’m curious to see if the professions that can craft legendaries will have more options like tailoring --> legendary cloak… etc Kind of a let down though that not all of the professions have this option, JC could have a legendary ring option and legendary engi goggles, inscription has been known to craft staffs/offhands but that’d be pretty broken to basically have a free legendary weapon all expansion…
Engineering and Blacksmithing sounds fun. I would say either that or engineering alchemy for the CDs.
