Second account info pls

I’m thinking about starting fresh on a second account, but before I do so I would like some reassurance on a couple of things.

  1. I know transmogs are bnet account wide, more specifically region wide, but what about the covenant mogs? It would seem weird to me to have a fresh character on a fresh account having access to all the covenant mogs right from the start, but you never know, maybe it’s the case.

  2. Will I be asked where I want to install the SL upgrade on my computer? I would prefer if both accounts shared the same install folder.

  3. Will I have to re-download and re-configure all of my addons on the new account?

  4. I bought BFA for my second account a few years ago, because I wanted the free boost that came with it. It was cheaper than to buy the boost because BFA was on sale at the time. The purchase appears in my history, but the upgrade is nowhere to be found. Would it be possible that I purchased it for my main account by accident?

Once BfA got rolled into the base game, it no longer comes with a free boost.

Any unused boost you got when you purchased BfA would still be accessible from the character select screen. Purchased boost don’t go away but they may get upgraded to a higher level boost as more expansions are released.

Everyone plays with the same game client that contains all content for all expansions.

What parts of that content your WoW accounts have access to depends upon what expansion license to have on the account.
If you have two BFA accounts, you just select the account you want have upgraded with a SL license and that license will get access to the SL content.

You don’t really download anything additional for SL content.

  1. I don’t know why they wouldn’t be. The Artifact stuff from Legion works across WoW licenses on the same Bnet account. (Why yes, I do have level 10 sparkle kitties all over my accounts!) There may be some level limits on the covenant stuff.
  2. Accounts will share the same install.
  3. Addons are also shared between accounts. However, the actual addon settings, however, are separate. (As are things like keybindings and macros.) Basically, all of that stuff is in the WTF folder, and that folder will have subfolders for your different accounts. You can copy the settings files over from one account to another.
  4. It won’t let you buy an expansion on an account that already has it, so that’s not what happened. As BfA was rolled into the base game, it won’t show as a separate account level anymore. An account is either Shadowlands or generic WoW (which includes everything up through BfA.) It did use to show accounts without the current expansion as the previous expansion level, but at some point they changed it to just show the generic WoW account if you didn’t have the current expansion.

I’m already done setting up my addons and everything.
I was expecting more steps, more problems, but it all went very smoothly, thank you all!
